Winslow is a native of Mobile, Alabama and graduated from McGill -Toolen Catholic High School. She attended Spring Hill College and graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors while earning a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics. At Spring Hill, she was named the Presidential Scholar recipient in the field of Business Administration. As a college student, Winslow tutored at area schools, prepared tax returns for disadvantaged citizens, as well as raised money for charities including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  After graduating from Spring Hill College in 2011, Winslow attended the University of Alabama School of Law in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. During her second year of law school, she competed in the John A. Campbell Moot Court Competition. She also worked in the Domestic Violence Clinic, a student run legal service for impoverished victims of Domestic Violence. She interned for two years at the Mobile County District Attorney Office, gaining not only research and writing experience, but also practical courtroom experience. After graduating from the University of Alabama School of Law, Winslow was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in September of 2014. She is also a member of the Mobile Bar Association and Mobile Young Lawyers.

Laura grew up in Florence, Alabama, and graduated from Bradshaw High School. Laura then attended Auburn University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.. Upon graduation from Auburn University in 2007, Laura attended law school at the University of Alabama School of Law, where she was awarded the Howard R. Andres, Jr. Memorial Scholarship and the William H. Mitchell, Sr. Scholarship. She also worked in the Domestic Violence Clinic, a student run legal service for impoverished victims of Domestic Violence.. After graduating from the University of Alabama School of Law, Laura was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in September of 2010 and moved to Mobile, Alabama where she accepted an associate attorney position at Cunningham Bounds, LLC to work on the BP oil spill litigation. In 2013, Laura began working at Legal Services Alabama, where she helped low income clients in all areas of civil practice. Laura joined Gardberg & Kemmerly, PC as an Associate Attorney in the Social Security Disability department in January of 2016.

I  grew up with a father in the Air Force and has lived all over the United States. At 30 years old, she decided to attend law school. I attended law school full time and worked night jobs, all while being a mother to a young daughter and a wife. I graduated from The Birmingham School of Law in 1998 and has been with The Mims Firm since 2001. My  areas of practice are numerous, including domestic relations, adoptions, wills and estates, and bankruptcies.  When I am not  in the office, you can find me kayaking, cross-training, or running. I have even participated in several Spartan Races and mud runs.

As a Board Certified Specialist in the field of Social Security Disability, I devote each day of my working life to helping the injured and disabled get the benefits to which they are entitled from the Social Security Administration.  That involves not only advising clients on matters regarding the initial application but also preparation and hearings before Administrative Law Judges.  And, if necessary, pursuing appeals at the Appeals Council and in federal court.  I enjoy helping people, and it means a lot to me to be able to help clients improve their quality of life.
