Welcome,. My name is Amanda Cooper and I began my small practice as a solo-practicioner fourteen years ago.. My practice areas include Juvenile Law, Family Law, Landlord/Tenant Law, and General Practice. I have added two recent cases in each practice area below. Names have been changed to protect my clients' privacy.. In addition, I am also licensed to practice federally in the United States District Court of Massachusetts.. l am licensed to handle VA cases and have practiced Pro Hac Vice in South Carolina.. I believe that everyone deserves equal representation regardless of income. For this reason, I have accepted a number of Pro Bono cases and continue to volunteer my services through a legal aid clinic and The New Bedford Family and Probate Court.. My practice philosophy is simple. I have litigated over 2500 criminal cases in my 27 years as a member of the Bristol County Bar Advocates.. I handle both assigned cases and accept private cases.. My primary courts are the New Bedford District Court and the Bristol County Superior Court but I also accept cases in Fall River District Court, Taunton District Court and all courts inBristol and Plymouth Counties.. I am a certified Youthful Offender Attorney - handling both Deliquency and Youthfull Offender matters in the Juvenile Courts in Bristol and Plymouth Counties.. I also handle Care and Protection cases for parents of children who have been taken into the custody of the Department of Child and Family.

Marcus' passion for criminal law began as an intern for the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office. During his tenure, Marcus developed a working knowledge of court, prosecution, and police procedure. He expanded his knowledge of the subject while studying Criminal Justice at Bridgewater State University, where he graduated compiling multiple academic honors. He then attended University of Massachusetts School of Law as a recipient of an academic scholarship. During his time at UMass Law, Marcus was involved in several student organizations, including the Criminal Law Society, which would often educate general public about the institutions of and new developments in criminal law. Following his graduation from UMass Law, Marcus was admitted into the Massachusetts Bar as a licensed attorney.. Upon his admission to the Massachusetts Bar, Attorney Ferro launched his own solo practice, The Law Office of Marcus D. Ferro as an affiliate of the Justice Bridge Legal Center in Downtown New Bedford. To this day, Attorney Ferro continues to provide strong and effective legal solutions to the residents of the Southcoast and beyond.

I joined the Surprenant & Beneski, P.C. in 2005, working for more than 10 years as a case manager prior to becoming an attorney.I am proud to be the team leader of our Medicaid Planning team. I help families navigate the process, ensuring that the person needing Medicaid to off-set the expense of their care becomes eligible while maintaining the lifestyle of the spouse remaining at home. Personally, I am a mother of four children, Jenna, Renee Alex and Eric.  I am married to my high school sweetheart, Joe, and we live in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.  Outside of work, I have very little free time.   I wish I could say I had hobbies but most of my free time is spent going to my kids’ activities such as karate, soccer, scouts, etc.  I have been a girl scout leader for the past 9 years.  I am on the Board of the New Bedford Symphony.  I love to travel, especially with my family so that we can enjoy new places together.  In the past several years we have gone to Denver, Colorado, San Diego California, Cape Cod and Florida.  I love good wine, tea, Chesuncook Maine, warm weather, and a good book.
