My focus is on my clients' overall individual and family needs and I assist clients in achieving their personal planning goals through effective wealth preservation, minimization of federal and state income, estate and gift taxes, facilitating tax effective transfers of family-owned businesses and real estate, transfers of inter-generational wealth, and structuring tax-effective charitable donations.I also represent fiduciaries in the administration of trusts and estates. I oversee preparation and filing of estate and gift tax returns, represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service and handle a wide range of probate matters including administration of estates and guardianships in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

I joined the Surprenant & Beneski, P.C. in 2005, working for more than 10 years as a case manager prior to becoming an attorney.I am proud to be the team leader of our Medicaid Planning team. I help families navigate the process, ensuring that the person needing Medicaid to off-set the expense of their care becomes eligible while maintaining the lifestyle of the spouse remaining at home. Additionally, I work to help to protect and preserve assets for future generations.

Personally, I am a mother of four children, Jenna, Renee Alex and Eric.  I am married to my high school sweetheart, Joe, and we live in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.  Outside of work, I have very little free time.   I wish I could say I had hobbies but most of my free time is spent going to my kids’ activities such as karate, soccer, scouts, etc.  I have been a girl scout leader for the past 9 years.  I am on the Board of the New Bedford Symphony.  I love to travel, especially with my family so that we can enjoy new places together.  In the past several years we have gone to Denver, Colorado, San Diego California, Cape Cod and Florida.  I love good wine, tea, Chesuncook Maine, warm weather, and a good book.
