Among the many cases in defending professionals against claims for damages are several claims involving insurance brokers in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina where in one case, I obtained dismissal of an insurance broker in litigation with claims exceeding 18 million dollars.. One of my most notable cases was representing Pan American Airlines and the United States Government as lead trial counsel in the defense of an airline accident just outside of New Orleans, Louisiana where over 200 lawsuits were involved.

I currently and have always focused 100% of my practice on representing individuals who have been hurt or injured due to the negligance or carelessness of big companies. I know that hirng a lawyer can seem daunting and scary, especially if you have never done it before or have never been involved in a lawsuit. I know this because I have listened to my clients over the years — I understand that you are dealing with stressful and life-altering medical decisions and that you are wondering what the future will be like for your family. You don't want a “suit” showing up on your doorstep spouting legal jargon at want to make the legal process as easy on you as possible, while still keeping you completely informed and educated about the status of your case. My goal is to earn you and your family the highest recovery possible. I will earn your trust, and I will work tirelessly for you because I believe in and love what I do. I will be your confidant and I hope to eventually even be your friend.

I believe that individuals and corporations which are under federal or state criminal investigation or which have already been indicted should choose an attorney who is aggressive and has substantial experience and a good reputation with the investigative agencies, prosecutors, and judges who are handling the case.
I began litigating criminal cases in Orleans Parish Criminal District Court during my second year of law school. My career has spanned over two decades and includes extensive trial experience as a criminal defense attorney (both private practice and public defense) in the District Courts of Orleans and Jefferson Parishes as well as Federal practice in the Eastern District of Louisiana and as a prosecutor in Orleans Parish. My vast experience as a criminal defense attorney ranges from representing individuals facing the death penalty to charges of simple possession and everything in between.. I spent eleven years of my legal practice in North Carolina practicing both family and criminal law. My practice in North Carolina focused on family law with a primary focus on complex child custody cases, separation and divorce, domestic violence, child support, and property division. My criminal practice included private and public defense in both State and Federal courts as well as criminal appellate defense.. Every case is unique. As such, the attorney and client should prepare a legal strategy to account for the unique facts and circumstances of each particular case.. In criminal cases, the State bears the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. An effective criminal defense attorney seeks to build a strong attorney-client relationship and to determine if investigative action should be taken shortly after arrest. Once/if formal charges are filed, an extensive case review and legal analysis should be conducted to determine what strategy is best given the client's criminal history (from a risk assessment perspective), the strength of law enforcement's investigation, and other necessary factors. Together the attorney and client determine which strategy is best to provide the possible defense and mitigate risks.. In family law matters, my experience has taught me that in most instances, the optimal goal in family law litigation is amicable settlement. No one wins in the division of assets and family. Negotiated settlement promotes accountability and allows parties to conserve valuable time, energy, and financial resources, bringing the closure necessary for parties to move forward with their lives in a new positive direction. There are, however, situations where this is not possible and litigation is required to enforce valuable rights. In those cases, I always present as a strong, unwavering, knowledgeable, strategic advocate seeking the best possible outcome based on the facts and the law.

I am privileged to represent clients who share a desire to “get to the right result, quickly.”. “Unfortunately, an offshoot to Louisiana’s intertwined networks of transportation, tourism, and industry is a significant human cost. Whether it’s a trucking accident or a conventioneer failing to navigate a side-walk, severe injuries occur on a daily basis.” While most of my practice is dedicated to achieving the best-possible result for clients in litigation, I work with my clients in Louisiana and around the country to develop training and investigation protocols to reduce accidents and to effectively investigate the ones that happen. By developing claim and case-handling protocols, for example, I am able to significantly reduce a client’s exposure in high-value personal injury across multiple jurisdictions.
