I was born in Cleveland Ohio, but raised in Naples, FL. While in college, I was in the Air Force ROTC program and, after graduation, I was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force. While on active duty, I completed my masters degree in international relations.. After 4 1/2 years, I separated with an Honorable Discharge and was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal.. I then took a job in Orlando supervising the residential construction process of some pretty amazing houses for David Weekley Homes. My first community was Baldwin Park. Anyone familiar with Orlando knows that Baldwin Park was a Navy base which was demolished around 2000. It was then sold to a developer and is now a beautiful master-plan community.. As I was always curious about law school, I took my LSAT in the fall of 2006 and applied to Georgia State's College of Law and was accepted to start in the fall of 2007. Going back to being a broke college student at age 31 was not an easy transition. So, I took an overload of classes for 3 straight semesters so I could graduate an entire semester ahead of my peers. After graduating in December 2009, I took the bar exam in February 2010, and received my results in May 2010 and began working at David West & Associates shortly thereafter.. While with David, my eyes were opened to how calloused and unjust our criminal "justice" system usually is. Law enforcement is usually rewarded and promoted based on arrests made and citations issued. Prosecutors are rewarded and promoted based on conviction percentages. As such, they usually don't care if the accused is guilty or not. Furthermore, judges are re-elected for being "tough on crime". To make matters worse, most criminal defense lawyers care far more about the money than they do their clients.. In April 2012, I decided it was time to learn the civil side of the law. Since that time, I have specialized in personal injury cases mainly stemming from auto accidents and injuries sustained on common carriers. I also now have experience defending Eight Amendment excessive force cases as well as other Civil Rights cases. I have also been on the other side of the table as our firm does take plaintiff cases in many of these areas.
I specialize in wrongful death and personal injury cases. This includes automobile, motorcycle and bicycle crashes, truck wrecks, medical malpractice claims, animal attacks, and premises liability claims. I also handle other civil litigation matters. We handle these cases pre-litigation and through litigation and appeals.
I have been representing individuals and small businesses in Metro Atlanta (primarily northern tier counties) for 30+ years. I enjoy one-on-one interaction with my clients and their cases. My goal is to achieve my client's goals while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and courtesy possible.
