I went to UC Hastings College of Law with the intention of practicing Family Law.   I was drawn to the emotional nature of the work, and to the great positive impact that my work could have on families.. To that end, I worked for the San Francisco Family Law self-help center all through law school, and was selected to be a judicial extern for the San Francisco Unified Family Court.  I also worked as a research assistant for both Kelly Weisberg and Lois Weithorn, the two Family Law professors at Hastings.  I engaged in in-depth research projects and wrote substantive contributions to their casebooks.. Theory is all well and good, but the practice of Family Law is really what inspires me.  I worked in private practice as an associate at the Law Offices of Susan L. Jeffries for four years before opening my own law office.  I practice solely Family Law.  I assist my clients with a wide range of services, from the preparation of pre- or post-nuptial agreements to negotiating settlements on property and support, to representing clients at contested hearings.. Throughout it all, I endeavor to make a difficult time more bearable for each client, whether that be through easing their minds by giving them information on their legal rights, or by working on a limited scope basis to provide legal services at a lower cost.

I was born in Oakland, California. I graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 1997, and U.C. Hastings College of the Law in 2003. I've been practicing law since that time. I took the law office over from my father, Max Cline who is now retired. In total we have been in business over forty years. I have assisted thousands of individuals obtain fresh starts in chapter 7 and reorganize under chapter 13.. I am a native of the Bay Area. I graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1999 with a degree in environmental studies and a degree in geography. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1973 and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1978.  Previously to helping found Bogatin, Corman & Gold in 1994, I was staff counselto the National Treasury Employees Union and subsequently staff counsel to theCalifornia School Employees Association.  In 1992, I was honored as CSEA’s Employee of the Year for my representation ofpublic sector employee plaintiffs in litigation affecting the pension rights ofCalifornia public employees.  My current practice emphasizes the representation of individuals in all forms of employment and discrimination related matters.  I also work with non-profit and small business organizations in formulating personnel policies and handbooks.  I formerly served as a judicial arbitrator forthe Alameda County Superior Court and currently work as an advisor andhearing officer in California merit system school district employeedisciplinary cases.  In 1996, Iwas the legal advisor and editorial consultant for the publication California Assembly of Local Arts AgenciesPersonnel Handbook for CaliforniaNonprofits.  In 2010, I co-authoredthe publication California Employment LawIssues in a Down Economy.  (Aspatore Publications.)  That writing is now included in California Employment Issues in an Economic Downturn, (West Publications Group).  My interests include non-fiction reading and analysis, music and baseball.

I graduated from Indiana University School of Law in 1988 and passed the California State Bar the same year. My undergraduate studies were in International Relations at Hebrew University of Jerusalem.. I began my practice in a small San Francisco bankruptcy firm that specialized in representing Chapter 7 Trustees. After 3 years I joined a larger Oakland firm where I practiced both general bankruptcy law (representing debtors, creditors and trustees) as well as general civil litigation. A year later in 1992 I opened my own practice; first in San Francisco and then in the East Bay. I handle cases for people living in all 9 Bay Area Counties.. For the past few years I have focused almost exclusively on representing debtors, although from time to time I represent creditors.
