I went to nursing school 15 years ago thinking that I would always be a nurse caring for patients at the bedside. After working in the operating room and the pre-op/PACU, I decided that I could do more for nurses, patients, and the healthcare system in general by working to change healthcare for the better as a legal advocate and social justice change agent. A patient’s story about poor medical treatment that led to an amputation inspired me to attend law school and be the voice for the voiceless.I am passionate about improving medical access to marginalized communities, working with providers to help protect their licenses and interests, and educating the community on the options that are available to them when seeking care and medical treatment. Additionally, as a graduate of Howard University and the Howard University School of Law, my practice is deeply rooted in social justice, and I serve as an architect of social change through my practice as both a nurse and an attorney. My experience puts me in a unique position to understand the complexities of both the healthcare and legal system. I am passionate about birth and reproductive justice, providing quality and culturally competent care to marginalized communities, and engaging healthcare providers in the political process to create impactful policy changes.. If you are seeking consultation as a healthcare provider, fellow attorney, or a potential client please fill out the contact form and I will personally get back to you in 24-48 hours. I can also be reached by phone at or by email at. If you are an aspiring nurse or attorney please reach out to me via email at to schedule a one on one call.. I have been working in the bankruptcy courts for over a decade and it is not an add on part of my business.  The ethical limitations placed on attorneys do not allow me to say more than that.. The business world has become controlling in the U.S. and they have a free hand in off-shoring jobs and reducing salaries.  The reason claimed is competition, but there really is no competition when the infrastructure is being given to foreign countries freely and our market place is free to almost all takers outside of the U.S.  What is happening in my country is sad and offensive.  The world market is hardly a free market when it includes communist countries.  I take great pride in discharging creditor debts for my Clients and placing the costs of off-shoring back onto the businesses, particularly the international businesses, that are doing what I consider to be un-American.. The biggest problem I have with my Clients, is overcoming their overwhelming sense of personal guilt.  The reality is that most people had a great deal of help in getting where they are today, in my office, and they really had very little choice in losing their middle class status.  The system was rigged against them and it is not their fault.

After spending the early part of my career in DoD medical emergency preparedness, I decided to shift gears away from health policy work in 2012 and pursue practicing law. In Fall 2012 I opened a solo firm, combining general practice with criminal defense and a growing base in alternative dispute resolution techniques, including divorce mediation and parenting plans.
