It is important to find an attorney who is passionate about achieving desirable results. It is also important to choose an attorney who can adequately read a situation, and utilize various resources to best assist the client. Some situations require a delicate approach, others require strong negotiating, and still others require professional ferocity in the courtroom. It is my goal to be the attorney who meets or exceeds these standards.. As a mediator, I am fair, impartial, and willing to provide my opinion, when requested, about your likelihood of success if an issue is taken before a judge.
In addition to practicing personal injury law and estate planning for 20+ years, I'm also an advocate for the arts. I volunteered pro-bono for the now defunct County run program, Volunteer Legal Assistance for the Arts. I'm also currently Chairman of the Board for the Dunedin Fine Art Center, Tampa Bay's largest non-accredited arts education center and gallery. In the past I was the president of Florida Craftsman Gallery (now known as Florida CraftArt) located in St. Petersburg. I have also been a docent at the Salvador Dali Museum also located in St. Petersburg and have been doing this for more than 20 years.
I really enjoy helping people and therefore, love being able to practice law. I feel privileged by it.
I practice in the areas of real estate, commercial and business litigation, and corporate law. I have represented an array of business clients in my practice, from builders, developers, and entrepreneurs to national financial institutions, private investor groups, and contractors. My focus is on prompt, effective problem-solving and the minimization of legal issues so that clients may focus their energies on advancing and achieving their business objectives.
I have a Masters Degree in Cardiovascular Physiology from Wake Forest University. I worked for 8 years as a Clinical Manager in the hospital industry and as a nurse educator for a national cardiac rehabilitation company. I began my career working as a defense lawyer for insurance companies and defending medical malpractice defendants. My practice now is exclusively for victims of medical malpractice, nursing home malpractice and automobile injuries.
I grew up in Pinellas County, graduating from Dunedin High School. I returned home after graduating from University of Florida Law School and am raising my two beautiful children, along with my Husband of 18 years, here in Tarpon Springs. I love this area and would never want to live any place else. My original career choice was teaching, due to my background of always caring for kids, whether it was my younger siblings and cousins or coaching swim teams. My career path changed and now my focus and goal as an attorney is helping children in difficult times.
I decided that I was going to practice law at the age of 8 because I have always had a passion for helping people. Being able to fight for other people is in my DNA and comes across in everything that I do. I am passionate about fighting for justice in all circumstances and I believe in our system when it’s working as it should.. And, at the end of the day, that’s my job! I get to help add a layer of accountability to our system to ensure that it works properly for all people. This means helping people to know their rights, fighting to ensure those rights are upheld, and making sure that the criminal justice system isn’t overwhelming for my clients.. I believe that people deserve second chances, that a mistake shouldn’t define anyone, and that a label such as “criminal” shouldn’t become anyone’s identity. Because of this, I work tirelessly to combine compassion, zeal and integrity in my practice. I fight for my clients at the worst moments they will ever face and pride myself on seeking the best possible outcome to allow my clients to move beyond that interaction with the system.. No one should pay for a crime they didn’t commit and no one should be forced to pay indefinitely for a momentary lapse in judgment.. As a long-term Tampa Bay area resident, I attended the University of South Florida where I received a full scholarship and graduated cum laude. I then worked my way through law school and earned my law degree from Stetson University College of Law, which is recognized as one of the top law schools in the country for trial advocacy. There I participated on the client counseling team and competed nationally as a member of the dispute resolution team.. After graduating in 2004, I began to work for a Fortune 100 company and spent close to a decade practicing in corporate America. I have benefited from numerous leadership, management, and relationship-building courses during my tenure and have been awarded recognition for my performance, collaboration and negotiation skills, and leadership in difficult situations. My real-world experience gives me the ability to look outside the box and bring a different perspective to my client’s cases. I am able to combine my knowledge of the criminal justice system with this experience to earn results for my clients.. I am a full-time wife, mother of two beautiful children, and criminal defense attorney. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I am still humbled that I get to live my dream of helping my clients each and every day and I look forward to helping you too.
I am passionate about the law, my clients and my firm. I take great pride in representing my clients in the same way that I would represent a member of my immediate family. I try to focus on the unique needs, goals and background of each client. Accidents might happen in the same way or on the same road, but the effects of an accident are never the same for each client. It is important for me to understand the cirmstances of my clients, because only then will I be able to represent them like family.. On the personal side, my free time is spent almost exclusively with my family. I am blessed to be married to my high school sweetheart and we have two adult children. My wife and I also volunteer for Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida so from time to time we also have "foster" dogs as members of our family in addition to our Chocolate Lab, Fisher.. We spend our free time fishing, traveling, hiking, attending sporting events (Go Rays!!), and enjoying other outdoor activities. Since we have Labrador Retrievers, we also spend a lot of time on floor maintenance at home!
