Jim has been involved in the practice of law in Parker since 1987. Previously, he was admitted to the Wyoming State Bar in 1980. Jim is a past member of the Real Estate section of the Colorado Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy has been involved in all aspects of real estate legal representation including the acquisition, development and ownership formation phases for his clients. As an acquisition and development attorney, he has been involved in multiple shopping center purchases and sales,apartment projects and residential/agricultural developments. The combined per-square footage of these retail, commercial and residential properties exceed one million square feet and has closed, participated in the pre-sale negotiations, contract drafting, due diligence review and research and closings that exceed $150,000,. I grew up in Davis, California, the daughter of a criminal defense lawyer and the oldest of three children. I graduated from California State University having attended both the Sonoma State and Sacramento State campuses with a degree in Government. While in College, I worked as a legal assistant in my dad's Law Office. Following college, I attended the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. In my third year of law school, I had the privilege of interning in the Felony Division of the Denver Public Defender's Office and was a student law clerk in the Denver County Juvenile Court. In the past, I had a diverse civil litigation practice encompassing the areas of Family Law and Contract disputes.. After more than a decade of litigation, I decided to adjust my practice and focus on keeping clients out of court. Drawing on my experience as a litigator, I help my clients avoid seeing the inside of a courtroom through well-crafted contracts and agreements. My practice is currently limited to Estate Planning, Oil and Gas contracts, Small Business Contracts and Succession planning. Now the only time I go to court is for Landlord/Tenant disputes. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children, exploring Colorado's great outdoors, reading, gardening, cooking and volunteering in my community.
