I started my criminal defense legal practice in Phoenix under the auspices of the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. Here, as a future criminal attorney, I benefited from tremendous training and education the County provided for prosecuting criminal defense matters. I now apply that knowledge as a criminal defense attorney for the firm.. Experience. I have tried various cases from simple drug crimes to more serious violent crimes and sex crimes. With the priceless knowledge acquired from the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, I soon realized that my skills and efforts were being underutilized and were meant to better serve the public in criminal defense.. After serving as a Deputy County Attorney under former County Attorneys, Rick Romley and Andrew Thomas, I took my training and knowledge to a local private defense firm. Here I quickly rose to become the top defensive litigator in the law firm.. The Feldman Law Firm, PLLC. After several years, I decided to open up The Feldman Law Firm, PLLC to better serve clients and the community.. Among my recent achievements, I have been named a top lawyer under 40 by the ASLA, a top rated criminal defense attorney by SuperLawyers and my firm has an A+ rating by the BBB.. Criminal Defense Attorney. I'm solely focused on criminal defense, in all aspects and handle cases of all sizes.  Not only do I defend clients; but I've also been a prosecutor so I'm very familiar with both sides of the judiciary process.. Firm: Phoenix Public Defender's Office

I started my career as a Maricopa County Deputy Public Defender over two decades ago.  I have always only been a criminal defense trial lawyer up until the beginning of 2021.  In January I joined the City of Phoenix Public Defender's Office as their new Assistant Director.. My devotion to the practice of criminal law has been driven by my belief that there is good in everyone.  I try to spend time looking at my client holistically and seeing past the immediate charges to try to get the bigger picture as to what is driving them to wind up afoul of our criminal justice system.. As Assistant Director I am still in the criminal defense fight, though now I'm representing our office fighting for what our attorneys need to best represent their clients.  The fact that I can reflect back over 20 years as a trial lawyer and know that I had a positive impact on hundreds of lives (even more if you count the family and friends of those I helped) fulfills me.  I'm grateful for the opportunity I had to represent so many people who trusted me with their freedom.

I received my law degree from Seattle University School of Law in 2007.  During law school, I focused primarily on Criminal Law while participating in advanced courses in Comprehensive Pretrial and Trial Advocacy.  Those courses allowed me to prepare for and conduct mock trials with the guidance of King County prosecutors in front of King County judges.  Additionally, I excelled in the nation's #1 Legal Writing program.  When I graduated, I accepted a position as a Deputy County Attorney with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.. As a Deputy County Attorney, I continued to work on developing my skills as a trial attorney.  I began my career at the Maricopa County Attorney's Office prosecuting Juvenile offenses where I conducted numerous trials.  For a period of over 5 years as a Deputy County Attorney, I prosecuted thousands of cases including a variety of felony and misdemeanor offenses in the Superior and Justice Courts of Maricopa County.  I have conducted dozens of trials throughout Maricopa County.  I concluded my career at the Maricopa County Attorney's Office after being selected to the elite Sex Crimes Bureau.. I have also continued to excel as a trial attorney.  Most recently, I secured an acquittal for a client in an extremely serious felony case after succesfully reducing his bond from $100, all the way down to $5,.  I have successfully defended a variety of cases including misdemeanor and felony charges.

I have been practicing law for over 17 years and have been a criminal defense attorney for 14 years. I am licensed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Minnesota, and Utah. I have my Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Psychology. I graduated with my Master’s from Northern Arizona University in 1998, worked for Northern Arizona Counsel of Governments (“NACOG”) for a year and then pursued my law degree at the University of Minnesota, where I graduated in 2004. I then returned to the State of Arizona, which I consider my home away from “home” (Colorado, where she was raised).. I always wanted to be an attorney since I can remember.  I enjoy helping people, and I have the background to empathize with people, while at the same time being open and honest with clients about their situation. I am also persistent and aggressive with my representation and will do all I can to help people overcome their legal troubles.

I have been practicing criminal defense law in Arizona for approximately 40 years. From 1985 until August, 2012, I was a certified criminal law specialist.  It was my choice not to re-apply for certification, for a variety of reasons, not the least of which was that after all these years, if I don't know what I'm doing, being "certified" isn't going to change that.. My practice is almost exclusively in state superior courts and some lower level courts (city, justice of the peace).  It also consists of considerable experience in appeals and post-conviction relief (called "Rule 32s" in Arizona).. After practicing in my home state of New York for several years, my husband and I returned to Arizona, where we'd both attended law school (in Tucson).  Initially, I clerked for the now deceased Justice Jack D.H. Hays of the Arizona Supreme Court.  That was followed by a stint as a staff attorney for that court, under the tutelage of the Hon. Sarah Grant, then the Chief Staff Attorney and now a retired Court of Appeals judge.  These experiences made me a better trial lawyer and a much better appellate lawyer.. When I went into private practice, I worked for John J. Flynn, one of the attorneys responsible for the Miranda v. Arizona decision. Unfortunately, I did not work for John for long when he had a massive heart attack and died.  I finished up some of the work he'd left, then went to work for another distinguished criminal defense attorney in Phoenix, Thomas A. Thinnes (deceased).  After approximately eight years with Tom, I went out on my own.  However, I learned a great deal from Tom, who was a good friend and superior mentor.. I have had many mentors among some of the senior attorneys here in Arizona (although I am one myself now).  Among the many were Craig Mehrens, Jordan Green, Tom Karas (deceased)  and Phil Goldstein (deceased).  All of them taught me a great deal about being a good and honest lawyer.. My job, as a criminal defense lawyer, is seeing to it that the state and all its agents "play" fairly, and that they honor the Constitutions of the United States and Arizona by seeing to it that justice is done in each individual case.  In doing that, I not only help my clients, but all citizens.  Once the state plays unfairly, it will not stop with just one person, but will extend to anyone brought into the criminal justice system.. Both my children are grown and on their own.  For entertainment, I have  been a season ticket holder with the WNBA team here in Phoenix (the Mercury) for 15 years.  I have also become an avid fan of women's NCAA basketball, and watch as much as I am able in between everything else I do.  It is great fun to watch the young women in the NCAA grow and mature for four years, then often go on to play for teams in the WNBA.  Title IX was not available to my generation, but it has made all the difference in the world to these young ladies.. If you or someone you love is in trouble with the law, please do not hesitate to call me for a free one hour consultation.  We will decide together if I am the right attorney for your needs.  If I am not the right attorney for you, I will refer you to others that might better supply counsel for your particular case.. I do not handle DUIs, for they are a sub-specialty which requires a keen knowledge of the laws and how frequently they change.  I also will not handle a homicide where the state is asking for the death penalty.  I am adamantly opposed to the death penaly, and will not assist the state in its endeavor to kill its citizens.  Beyond those two areas, I am ready, willing and able to assist you in your quest for justice within the system.. Eleanor L. Miller

I am a southern Arizona native and grew up on my dad's cattle ranch east of Nogales on the Arizona-Mexico border.  After I finished college at the University of Arizona, I taught high school social studies in Tucson. After teaching for a few years, I decided to go to law school to focus on advocating for immigrant rights. Growing up on the border gave me unique insight on how immigration policy affects families and sparked the passion I need to fight for immigrants in court.  I primarily focus on immigration removal defense cases and family-based immigration petitions. I also dedicate a significant portion of my practice to handling pro bono cases for the Children's Law Center.. I currently live in the Phoenix area with my wife and two children.  On my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my family and serving in student and refugee ministries at my church.

I am a Criminal Law Specialist certified by the State Bar of Arizona and I have been practicing law for 30 years.  I teach other attorneys how to challenge illegal searches. While some attorneys like to advertise that they are "former prosecutors," I am proud to say that I have NEVER been a prosecutor! Prosecutors usually have the evidence on their side so being a defense attorney takes much more ingenuity, preparation and skill.. I have represented numerous clients over the years and get many referrals from satisfied clients.  I handle all my own cases.  If you don't need me, I will tell you so.  I will be honest with you throughout my representation as to how your case is looking..
