Josh Lamborn began his career as a Multnomah County Prosecutor. He prosecuted crimes ranging from Rape to Robbery to Aggravated Murder. In his 12 years as a Deputy D.A. Mr. Lamborn amassed well over 100 jury trials. Only in trial can a lawyer truly learn the ins and outs of trial practice. Mr. Lamborn’s extensive trial experience and daily courtroom presence not only helped hone his trial skills, but also helped develop relationships with judges and court staff, and learn what motivates judges and juries. As an insider at the courthouse Mr. Lamborn has an advantage when it comes to representing his client’s interests.. While settling a case is sometimes in your best interest, Mr. Lamborn is a trial lawyer; he will not take your case in the hopes of settling it to avoid a trial. Insurance company lawyers attempt to settle lawsuits as cheaply as possible. Only the realistic threat of a trial keeps them honest. Other personal injury lawyers settle cases they know are worth more money just so they can avoid trial. Mr. Lamborn will not settle a case unless you are getting the maximum compensation for your injury.. All of Mr. Lamborn cases are on a contingency fee basis, which means if you do not recover any money neither does he. I started practicing law in 1992.  I opened up my own practice immediately after graduating from law school and passing the bar exam.  For the first two years I mostly did criminal defense.  Then I started representing criminal defendants in civil matters:  they had been held in jail too long, or beaten by the police.  Then I began to represent people outside of the criminal law system injured in accidents  -- primarily car accidents.. I liked doing that sort of work (personal injury or "PI" work).  It tends to be less contentious and less stressful than some other areas, although no area of litigation is without its stressors, as conflict is inherent in the process.. When I cannot agree with the other side -- which is often, I am afraid -- I like to adhere to two concepts.  The first is to disagree without being disagreeable.  The second is to agree to disagree:  stop trying to convince the other side that I am right and get the case before a judge or arbitrator to settle the matter.

I provide a unique advantage to my clients. I spent the earlier part of his career as an insurance defense attorney. That experience gives me intimate knowledge of the defense tactics routinely used by insurance companies that I will use to your benefit. This invaluable insight into insurance company thinking and strategy will give you the best possible chance of recovering the compensation you deserve.. I received excellent legal training working for one of Oregon’s most well respected law firms. It became clear to me as my career progressed, however, that I was truly passionate about representing individuals – not insurance companies. It was that passion that led me to found Gamboa Law Firm.

I have been a lawyer assisting people who have been injured by bad drivers, doctors and lawyers in state and federal courts since 1984. I pride myself on providing fast and personal attention to resolve cases in a fast, fair and complete way. I grew up near Chicago. I graduated from public high school in 1976, and then went to Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, graduating in 1980 with a bachelor of arts majoring in economics. I spent 1980-81 cleaning the undersides of airplanes while becoming a commercial rated pilot and a certified flight instructor, instrument and airplane. I loved teaching and flying in instrument conditions, basically in the clouds or fog, using only the instruments in the airplane to maintain safe flight. In 1981, I decided I didn't want to seek a job with an airline--though I have continued to be a current  flight instructor since 1981.I enrolled in the Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College in the fall of 1981 and graduated in 1984. I spent several years working for the law school's legal clinic where I primarily assisted low-income people needing help with consumer problems. I went in to private practice upon his admission to the Bar in September, 1984. Since then, I have represented thousands of people in getting a fair resolution of their claim against wrongdoers and insurance companies. I pride myself on helping people who have been victimized by an accident or incident in getting a fast and fair result. Most people have never had to bring a claim and can be easily victimized by an insurance company. I provide fast and personal attention to assist you from the first meeting through the end of your claim. I insure that you understand where you stand from the start of the case, and keep you informed throughout the processing of the claim. I am readily available by phone or email should any questions or concerns arise during the course of your case.

I devote my practice to helping injured people and their familes with their personal injury or wrongful death claims. During my career I have successfully represented hundreds of victims in their claims against insurance companies or wrongdoers. I put my clients first and believe my representation should provide three primary benefits: 1) navigating the complicated and confusing world of insurance claims on your behalf; 2) placing you in the best possible position to focusing on recovering from your physical and emotional trauma; and 3) maximizing the compensation you receive from the wrongdoer or their insurance company.. Before rejoining the Rosenbaum Law Group as an attorney, I worked for six years as a paralegal at Rosenbaum Law Group. During that time I observed and recognized the powerful role lawyers can play in obtaining justice for people whose lives are turned upside down because of another person's negligence. I attended the Willamette University College of Law with the goal of becoming a lawyer who helps people, not corporations. At Willamette, I served as the Editor in Chief of the Willamette Law Review and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Because of the above, I possess a unique blend of legal, practical, and administrative experience that enables me to effectively represent my clients in their battle with insurance companies.

I came to Portland in 1988 to attend law school at Lewis & Clark, Northwestern School of Law after completing my undergraduate studies at Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA.  I was raised in the country on the Kitsap Peninsula and more or less consider myself a native of the Pacific Northwest.  I've always had a deep love for the Portland, Oregon community, and I am proud to call it my home.  I have raised two children in the community over the past 32 years along with several cats and dogs.  My hobbies include cycling, hiking, mountaineering, downhill skiing, rafting and pretty much anything that gets me outdoors in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.. I began my legal career as a law clerk during law school for a firm that did both insurance defense work and plaintiff's personal injury cases on behalf of individuals.  Firms of this nature are rare in today's legal community because they are almost always one or the other...not both.  I worked 20 to 30 hours a week for the law firm during law school and attended classes full time. After I graduated in the top 20% of my class from law school, I passed the bar examination on my first attempt and began working at the same firm that I worked for during law school. My mentor was a senior litigation attorney who previously worked as a law professor part time at the Nothwestern School of Law when it was a night school in downtown Portland.  He was an excellent teacher, and he taught me how to try cases to juries in the courts of Oregon.  I was handling jury trials in my first year out of law school, which is almost unheard of these days.  I also had opportunities to "second chair" cases with the senior attorney for serious injuries as well as wrongful death.  When my mentor retired, I took over his case load of plaintiff's cases, and I have been primarily practicing on my own litigating cases on exclusively behalf of individual plaintiffs for over two decades. I no longer believe in representing insurance companies because I like to help people as opposed to furthering the monetary interests of Fortune 500 corporations.  My experience representing insurers in the past during the first five years of my legal career has given me special insight into their inner workings and methods.. My passion is to help regular people navigate the legal system as an advisor and advocate. Most of my clients have never hired a lawyer before. I am very loyal to my clients and strive to deliver the best result possible.  99% of my cases are handled on a contingency basis, meaning that if nothing is recovered, nothing is owed for my time.  I like the fact that I have skin in the game along with my clients.  It's what keeps me motivated and passionate.
