I’m a Tri-Cities native, having graduated from Hanford High School. In 2009, I graduated from the University of Washington after having to witness entirely too many losing football seasons. At the University of Washington, I majored in English and will never let you forget it. I then went on to attend the University of Illinois School of Law in Urbana-Champaign.. After earning my law degree, I decided to return to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to my family. I immediately began my legal career at the Benton County Office of Public Defense. I have always been exclusively interested in and committed to the practice of criminal law. While at the Office of Public Defense, I spent time in District Court handling misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors for indigent clients. After spending a year and a half with the Office of Public Defense, I was hired as an Associate at Mendoza & Johnson, where I expanded from misdemeanors to felony charges and became federally licensed in the Eastern District of Washington.. In 2015, I partnered with Scott Johnson to form the Johnson & Orr Law Firm, where we spent weeks fighting over the logo.. In private practice, I quickly realized that often what separates a good attorney is not necessarily legal prowess, but communication. Too many attorneys are unable or simply unwilling to allow for transparency, to not only make decisions, but the reasoning behind those decisions. These are difficult choices to make; one that requires a collaborative effort with our clients. It is easy to forget that most everyone seeking legal counsel is enduring one of the most trying times of their life, but it shapes everything. I have always been passionate about my role as an advocate for my clients, and that doesn’t exist in a vacuum at the courthouse.. Outside of my private practice, I hold a position on the Benton & Franklin County Adult Drug Court. This has provided me an opportunity to secure close ties to the treatment community, while also allowing me to work towards criminal justice reform. I will unabashedly advocate for any all reforms to our justice system and I rarely will bite my tongue about it. I like to believe that advocacy helps guide me in my individual relationships with my client. In addition to this position, I have helped coach the Richland High School Mock-Trial team for the last two years in a futile effort to appear youthful.. I pride myself on honest, clear communication that helps my clients find empowerment by understanding their options. Clients can look forward to accessible representation, vigorous preparation, and effective resolutions. Whether you have been accused of committing a misdemeanor or felony, Johnson & Orr provides skilled representation in a wide variety of criminal law matters.

There are always options in cases. I'll give you the information you need to choose among them. After earning my diplomas I attended the University of Idaho College of Law, graduating in the top 1/3 of my class. During my time in law school I interned for the Kennewick City Attorney's Office performing the duties of an Assistant City Attorney. While interning I received several favorable jury verdicts on behalf of the City.. I spent five years after law school as an assistant city prosecutor for several of the local jurisdictions around Tri-Cities. Now, in 2021 I have taken all that knowledge gained to serve my clients in criminal defense proceedings, as well as personal injury cases. If you have old criminal convictions that are holding you back in life, a recent change in our state law may make you eligible to have those removed from your record. If you are facing a criminal charge, have been injured in accident, or are looking to put your past behind you, please call for a consult today.
I love what I do. I honor my position in our legal system and the opportunity to advocate for people. Often times I see people at their worst. Helping them while they are down and getting results they appreciate is why I love what I do. I look forward to the challenges presented in every case.
I have 25 years of experience in the area of criminal and immigration law. I was a criminal prosecutor for 16 years prior to becoming a criminal defense attorney. I also hold a part time postition as the Director of Public Defense for the City of Pasco.
I became an attorney because I wanted to provide a better life for my family and help my community at the same time. Our core philosophy is that strength in the courtroom creates opportunities outside it for our clients.. With the help of my dad, I started Pacific Northwest Family Law to do just that in Washington State. We are building an incredible team of attorneys who are eager to win for their clients. Our offices are in the Tri-Cities, Walla Walla, and Spokane and we plan to open more offices.. We currently help clients in the following counties: Benton/Franklin, Spokane, Walla Walla, Columbia, Grant, Adams, Yakima, King, and Pierce counties. Families all over Washington State are finding success through our commitment to taking the unknown out of the family law process and helping clients understand their options, best strategies for achieving their goals, and ways to improve their relationships outside of the court process.. With a doctorate in Iberian and Latin American Cultures from Stanford University (yes, you can call me doctor) in addition to my legal training at Brigham Young University, I offer clients experience in clear-headed, practical thinking about ways to handle family crisis.
