I have been a personal injury attorney my entire career.  There are three reasons why I have been successful in the field:. (1) I work hard.  What you reap is what you sow.  If you don't put in the groundwork to do the job right, then the job won't be done right.. (2) I like new ideas.  A lot of attorneys have been handling cases the same way for their entire careers without questioning whether it was actually the best way to handle them.  It is easy for everyone to get into a routine in their job and repeat the same tasks over and over and attorneys are no different.  I do everything I can to avoid that and to handle my cases for my clients in a manner that makes insurance companies uncomfortable because it is not the "norm.". (3)  I'm a fairly simple person and I take pride in that.  You can see the same, repeated words used in a lot of attorney's advertisements on this website and others.  Everybody calls themselves dynamic, or passionate, or innovative, or so on.  Traits that sound impressive, but don't require any real support.  I don't speak or act that way in my personal life so I don't speak or act that way in my professional life.  Instead, I talk to all of my clients as normal people.  I think the worst mistake a lot of lawyers make is thinking that they need to act like a lawyer, or be somebody that they are not.  I've always found that the best way to communicate is to be yourself and allow the other person to do the same.  That sort of communication results in both people being on the same page, which allows them to work toward the same goal together.

I graduated from University of South Florida with two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in English Literature, and the other in Interdisciplinary Social Science.  My original thesis was accepted in 2006 entitled, "The Role of the Mitigation Expert for the Defense in the Penalty Phase of Capital Sentencing." Additionally, my honors thesis was accepted in 2006 entitled, "Deep in the Forest There Lies a Green Room:  An Examination of Audience Engagement in Three of Shakespeare’s Festive Comedies and Romances."  I am a long term resident of Northern Virginia, and returned to the area to complete my graduate study at George Mason University School of Law, where I participated in the American Consitutional Society.. I joined the McGlone Law Firm as an associate in 2011, and became partner in the Fall of 2014, changing the firm name to that of McGlone & Jehlen.  I then joined Surovell Isaacs & Levy, PLC to expand my criminal practice and begin learning how to work on domestic law cases.
