She attended various police officer training classes including NHTSA DUI Detection and Field Sobriety Testing, where she earned a Certificate of Completion.  Before accepting a position with the Solicitor’s Office, Ms. Ellwanger worked as a law clerk and investigative assistant with the Hall County Public Defender’s Office in Gainesville, Georgia.. Ms. Ellwanger is a graduate of University of Arkansas School of Law. During her first and second summer in law school, Ms. Ellwanger was a law clerk with Andrew, Merritt, Reilly & Smith in Lawrenceville, Georgia where she worked in corporate law, as well as probate and estate planning.  In the following summer, Ms. Ellwanger was a Summer Associate with Whelchel and Dunlap in Gainesville, Georgia where she gained experience in both civil and criminal law.. Before attending law school, Ms. Ellwanger graduated from the Women’s College of Brenau University, cum laude, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies and Conflict Resolution.   She was the recipient of the Brenau Scholar Award and was a member of Gamma Sigma Alpha and Phi Beta Sigma Honor Societies.  During her time at Brenau,  Ms. Ellwanger was actively involved in the community through the Brenau University Leadership Program.
