The grandson of Butte miners, William Gilbert is a fourth generation Montanan. Will graduated from the University of Montana School of Law in 2000 and has been practicing in Montana since that time. Prior to founding High Plains Law, P.L.L.C., he was a partner in a well-respected firm and focused his practice on insurance defense, including personal injury, premisesliability, construction defects and coverage issues. Matt grew up in Billings, Montana. He graduated magna cum laude from Gonzaga University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Business Administration with concentrations in finance and law and public policy. Matt was very active at his time at Gonzaga and was the President of the Gonzaga Kennel Club attending every basketball game during his time there. After Gonzaga, Matt moved back to Montana and attended the University of Montana School of Law. He graduated in 2023 with Honors. Matt interned for the firm’s Missoula office for one year during law school. Matt is admitted to practice law in Montana’s state and federal courts. John grew up in Billings, Montana. He graduated cum laude from the University of Wyoming in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Following graduation, John worked for the U.S. Senate. He then attended the University of Nebraska College of Law, earning his Juris Doctorate with a Litigation Concentration and a Certificate in Pro Bono Service. During law school, John worked as a law clerk for the U.S. Attorney's Office, Yellowstone County Attorney's Office, and the Nebraska Department of Administrative Services. In addition, John worked for Judge L. Steven Grasz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for Eighth Circuit. John capped off law school serving as a volunteer in Yellowstone County's Indian Child Welfare Court and as a student prosecutor in the College of Law's Criminal Clinic. John is admitted to practice law in Montana's state and federal courts, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Co., 239 P.3d 904 (Mont. 2010) (trial and appellate counsel for St. Paul alleging insurance bad faith and violation of Montana's Unfair Trade Practices Act).
