After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin in 2002 with degrees in philosophy and government, Alison moved back to her hometown to attend St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas.  While attending at St. Mary’s she won numerous advocacy awards based on her oral argument skills.  Several times in 2005 and 2006 she argued in front of the Texas Supreme Court as well as the Court of Criminal Appeals and in 2006 won first place in the Texas Young Lawyers Association Mock Trial in front of the Supreme Court of Texas.  Alison also was elected and served as the Student Bar Association President from 2005-2006.  The American Bar Association recognized her outstanding achievements with a scholarship at graduation..
