Oakley was born in Kentucky and raised in Northeast Missouri. He attended University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg receiving a B.S. In Criminal Justice. While in law school he was an intern for Legal Aid of Western Missouri and participated in Appellate Advocacy Moot Court. In 2013, Oakley received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.. After graduating law school, he went on to live in China for over a year. While in China Oakley taught English, studied Chinese and traveled across the country. He also met his future wife Katya who had come from Russia to study Chinese.. Kevin Allen Easley was born in Cassville, Missouri in March 1973. He received a B.S. degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance & Banking, and a minor in Economics from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 1995. He received his Juris Doctorate in 1998 from the University of Missouri - Columbia where he was a member of the Missouri Law Review. He was admitted to the Kansas bar in 1998 and the Missouri bar in 1999.. Upon graduating from law school, Kevin joined the law firm of Shook, Hardy & Bacon, L.L.P. ("SHB") in Kansas City, Missouri. While at SHB, Kevin was a member of the business litigation group which focused on defending corporations on various issues such as anti-trust, insurance coverage and defense, contract disputes and environmental compliance.
