Ryan’s areas of practice include class action litigation, mass tort, product liability, employment law, and personal injury.. Ryan has served as lead counsel in numerous high-profile class actions and has obtained millions of dollars in relief to thousands of class members. Ryan has tried cases in both state and federal court. He has also argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals (Eighth Circuit), and Missouri Court of Appeals (Western and Eastern Districts).. Ryan spearheaded several class actions challenging the constitutionality and validity of red light cameras throughout Missouri. In doing so, Ryan successfully persuaded the Court of Appeals to overrule another appellate decision that had endorsed red light cameras.  He then parlayed that success into securing the largest settlement in the State of Missouri in 2015 (an $18,000,000 class action settlement that offered cash refunds to hundreds of thousands of people).. Before attending law school, Ryan worked as a commercial real estate broker.  After law school, Ryan worked as an attorney at a large defense firm in the field of insurance litigation. He then worked at The Simon Law Firm for five years where he gained significant experience as a plaintiffs attorney including time spent leading the firm’s class action department.. Ryan is deeply passionate about fighting to ensure the fair administration of justice.  The legal maxim “fiat justitia ruat caelum” continues not only to be an indelible imprint on his life, but also a driving force for his pursuit of the truth.

Mandy is first and foremost a trial lawyer, a dying breed in world dominated by “litigation practice groups.” However, Mandy knows being a defense lawyer requires more than zealously advocating for her clients in the courtroom. From the moment of their first contact, she assumes the equally important role of counselor, taking time to focus on the emotional toll that being named in a lawsuit can take on any defendant. It is important to Mandy that her clients understand the litigation process and are as involved in their representation as they wish to be. She is always available for client questions or concerns and believes strongly that responsiveness is an obligation she owes to every client. Mandy makes it a point to develop a personal relationship with each client so they feel they are a part of a team and not just a defendant in a lawsuit.. Mandy’s trial experience has focused on professional liability claims. She is grateful to have clients who have entrusted her with defending numerous cases to trial, including multiple birth injury cases seeking damages in excess of $20,000,000. Having practiced throughout the States of Missouri and Illinois for almost two decades, Mandy prides herself in having earned a reputation within the bench and bar as an honest, hard-working advocate for her clients who upholds the rule of law while practicing with the utmost professionalism.. Because every client has a different outlook on what a “successful” resolution of a claim or lawsuit may be, Mandy has honed the skills needed to be effective outside the courtroom as well. She has participated in hundreds of mediations and direct settlement negotiations, using creativity in her approach to resolving claims and lawsuits to the satisfaction of her clients.. Whether the goal is early resolution of a claim or aggressively defending a case to a jury verdict at trial, Mandy’s experience and KGT’s resources serve clients with excellent, cost-effective legal services.

After many years of diverse practice experiences, I've settled into doing what I enjoy most: helping injured people and their families.  We can't return lost time, we can't mend bones, and we can't bring loved ones back; however, we can give people a fair opportunity to obtain justice in the civil court system.  Helping people understand and navigate the civil justice system is what motivates me.  And, at the end of the case, the best part is when my clients or their families tell us, "thank you."  I hope someday that I can be a good example for my two children, so that they work to help those in need in their communities, too.
