While in law school Mr. Symmes clerked at All Pro Sports and Entertainment in Denver, Colorado, where he participated in the representation of marquee NFL and PGA athletes in player grievances, endorsement contracts, standard player contracts, business incorporations and trademark disputes. In addition to his work at All Pro, Mr. Symmes clerked and interned for several law firms throughout Colorado in the areas of employment, family, gambling, and trusts and estates law.. My specific practice areas include student loan matters (federal and private), chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies, and civil and commercial litigation.  I have also successfully represented clients in numerous cases including issues of contract, fraud, intellectual property, real estate, business finance, and class action matters.. Born and raised in the greater Seattle area, I am a graduate of Kent-Meridian High School (co-valedictorian) and a graduate of the University of Washington Honors Program, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Distinction.  My honors thesis foscused on self-directed breast cancer research through the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Reseach Center.  I then traveled back east to attend Boston University School of Law, where I graduated with Honors in the Concentration of Litigation and Dispute Resolution.  I also externed for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston for the Chief of the Financial Litigation Division.. I relocated back to my hometown of Kent, WA after over a decade of practice with large firms in New York City and Philadelphia.  During my free time, I enjoy gardening, movies, hiking, skiing, and anything out on the beautiful waters of our Pacific Northwest.  I am a member of the bars of the State of Washington, the State of New York, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

My practice concentrates on representing individual and business debtors, creditors (both secured and unsecured), and Receivers  in cases filed under all chapters of the Bankruptcy Code and in the Washington Courts using the state receivership process.. I have twenty seven years of significant bankruptcy experience.  Before founding my own firm, I was Of Counsel and President of Crocker Law Group PLLC/Resolve Legal PLLC.  Prior to that, I was a partner at Ogden Murphy Wallace PLLC.  I began my legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Samuel J. Steiner, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Washington.. I am a frequent speaker at continguing legal education programs on Receiverships and individual chapter 11 cases.  In 2007 and 2008, I was invited to present at the Conference of Chief Bankruptcy Judges for the Ninth Circuit and the NInth Circuit Judicial Conference on consumer bankruptcy issues.

I have been practicing  bankruptcy law since 1979 in both Eastern and Western Washington.  In this time I have represented a lot of clients. When I am not working I enjoy travel (I have lived in both Sydney Australia and Rio de Janeiro Brazil) sports, a good dinner and a nice bottle of wine. A good movie or book also get my attention.

I am a former creditor attorney.  I now exclusively represent consumers in bankrutpcy, debt settlement, debt litigation (FDCPA, RCW 19.16, RCW 19.86), and tenant rights.. My background as a former creditor side and former landlord side attorney gives me a well rounded approach in defending and counter attacking against creditors, debt collectors, and landlords.  Not every case is complicated but often there are complexities in what appears to be simple cases.  I give each case and client a thorough analysis for litigation, settlement, bankruptcy, and out of court options.. Prior to law school, I obtained my B.A. in Psychology and served in the U.S. Air Force (active and reserve) for nearly ten years during which I deployed for Operation Enduring Freedom in support of post 9/11 operations.  I currently live in beautiful Mill Creek, WA with my wife and two children.  During my free time I enjoy cooking, travelling, martial arts, reading, and rooting for the Seahawks.
