My practice focuses on litigation and counseling involving a wide variety of matters in state and federal trial and appellate courts, and in arbitration and mediation forums.  I handle a wide variety of cases including securities litigation, trademark infringement, software quality disputes, regulatory compliance, employment litigation, product liability, fraud and business contract disputes.  I also represent individuals and companies involved in government investigations and enforcement actions and I advise clients on U.S. export controls.  I am certified as an Export Compliance Professional – ITAR  by the Export Compliance Training Institute.. Prior to joining Corr Cronin, I was an associate at Paul Hastings LLP in New York where my practice focused on government investigations, securities litigation, and internal corporate investigations, including compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.  Prior to entering private practice, I served as International Law Research Fellow for the Public International Law and Policy Group where I provided legal and policy advice to foreign government officials on matters including anti-corruption policies and political decentralization.  I also worked as an investigator for the New York City Civilian Complaint Review Board where I investigated allegations of misconduct against the NYPD.. I am a former lecturer at the University of Washington Jackson School of International Studies where I taught a masters-level course on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and strategies for combatting corruption in the public and private arenas.  I am licensed to practice in Washington and Idaho.

Jim Breitenbucher focuses his civil trial practice on complex commercial and real estate disputes.  Jim also litigates non-compete, trade secret, product liability and wildfire lawsuits, and takes particular pride in handling cases that involve complex technical issues.  Beyond the Pacific Northwest’s courtrooms, Jim’s first two decades of practice have found him successfully defending a $500 million shareholder derivative action during a four-week trial in New York City; challenging fines issued by the Department of Financial Institutions before an administrative law judge in Olympia, Washington; and pursing a commercial claim before an arbitration panel in Milan, Italy.  Jim’s primary objective, however, is to resolve cases before trial, and he has obtained summary judgment while representing clients as both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts in Washington and throughout the United States.. Jim originally joined Riddell Williams in 1999, after serving a two-year clerkship for the Honorable Faye C. I love what I do and it shows in my work. I am a commercial litigation lawyer in Fox Rothschild's Seattle office. I pride myself on excelling at my work, knowing my clients, and being more to them. My practice emphasizes class action defense, unique or challenging commercial disputes, and privacy issues. I have represented clients from large Fortune 100 companies to local, family-owned businesses and sole proprietorships. Regardless of the size or stakes, I constantly push myself to bring my all to every matter. I represent clients in federal court, state court, and arbitrations. I’ve enthusiastically represented them in a variety of cases, from breach of contract claims to data breach actions, to securities fraud lawsuits and arbitrations. I’ve prosecuted and defended trade secrets, customer theft, and business interference cases, earnout and royalty litigation, and other disputes arising out of the purchase and sale of businesses or products. I focus my practice on the representation of property owners whether corporations, limited liability companies, individuals or homeowners associations.  I am chair of the Construction Practice Team, serve on the Williams Kastner board of directors and am chair of the Loss Prevention Committee.  My recent trial success includes representation of General Metals of Tacoma, Inc in a contract dispute with its general contractor, Bean Environmental, LLC, on an environmental dredging project to remediate the Hylebos Waterway in Tacoma, Washington.  Following a five week jury trial in the United States District Court in the Western District of Washington, the jury awarded my client $6.37 million for damages sustained as a result of the general contractor’s failure to perform its contract obligations.  The decision in General Metals of Tacoma, Inc. v. Bean Environmental, LLC was upheld by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in November, 2008.. I was named to Super Lawyers from 2006 – 2008 by Washington Law & Politics magazine, and in 2003 was named one of Seattle’s Top Lawyers in construction law by Seattle Magazine.

I am a partner in the Corr Cronin firm.  I am an experienced jury trial lawyer who has tried more than seventy cases to verdict.  My practice focuses on complex trial work, including product liability lawsuits, commercial litigation and the defense of securities and other class action lawsuits.  I also use my experience as a former SEC attorney and criminal prosecutor to help individuals and companies respond to civil and criminal investigations.. Prior to joining the firm, I was a senior homicide prosecutor in Seattle, where, for several years, I exclusively tried murder cases, including a number that received front-page media attention. Before moving to Seattle to become a prosecutor, I practiced in Washington, D.C., where I began my career as a staff attorney for the Securities and Exchange Commission Division of Enforcement.

Emily's law practice focuses on complex civil litigation, class action defense, products liability, real estate litigation, and employment litigation.  Prior to joining Corr Cronin in 2004, Emily was a litigation associate at O’Melveny & Myers LLP in Los Angeles, and she clerked for the Honorable Thomas G. Nelson on the United States Court of Appeals Ninth Circuit.

During his more than forty years practicing as a traditional labor and employment lawyer, Tim has handled all types of employment matters for large national corporations as well as small businesses here in Seattle.  His work representing those employers has included wage and hour issues, occupational safety and health matters, arbitrations, collective bargaining negotiations, employment discrimination issues, and traditional labor matters arising under the National Labor Relations Act. Tim has litigated numerous labor and employment cases before federal and state agencies and in federal and state courts.. Tim has considerable experience serving in a proactive role for employers in order to help them avoid formal confrontations and lawsuits with their employees before they get started.  His work in this area has included drafting employee handbooks, auditing and amending employer practices pertaining to employees and providing guidance and group instruction to management representatives in the boardroom as well as first line managers dealing with employees on a daily basis.. Tim also represents employees on a selective basis and has considerable experience in handling and litigating personal injury matters for individuals and their families.                                                                          He is also very experienced in general commercial litigation in state courts in Washington and in federal courts around the nation..
