Marie is a  Pacific Northwest native.  She received her B.A. from EasternWashingtonUniversity and her law degree from the University of Washington.  In the course of her studies, she also attended the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in Mexico City and the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain..
