It's essential to get a good sense of what we're all about. Beyond being aware of what type of law we practice, defining who we are is just as important. Obviously, selecting a criminal defense attorney is a critical decision. A firm with experience is, no doubt, a must have – however, it's crucial to work with a firm you're comfortable with, and have the utmost confidence in.. We believe that the Blanford Law attitude and approach set us apart. And, our owner and lead attorney, Ken Blanford, exemplifies the essence of the firm. Put simply, Ken is passionate about connecting with clients on a personal level. He fosters relationships without assumptions, without preconceived notions, and he focuses on establishing a deep rapport with every individual he represents.. Taking the lead from Ken, we are a firm where what you see is what you get – in the best sense of the phrase. We are no-nonsense and relentless, yet we maintain pride in being fair and honest. Maybe opposite of what you're prepared to expect from attorneys, here at Blanford Law we're great listeners instead of fast talkers – that's just who we are.. With over 10 years of defense experience, Blanford Law represents clients across Washington: King, Pierce, Kitsap, Kittitas, Jefferson, Thurston, Snohomish, Yakima, Lewis, Island, Cowlitz, Clallam, Chelan, Grant, Whitman, Walla-Walla, Skamania, Clark, Grays Harbor, Okanogan, Spokane, Skagit and Mason Counties, as well as Seattle and Tacoma Federal District Court.
I served in the United States Marine Corps an received Honorable Discharge from the Marine in 1995. I became an attorney in 2004 and have been practicing criminal Law ever since. I am the owner and managing attorney for Pacific Point Defense. The firm focuses on criminal law and personal injury. I have handled everything from complex second strike cases to simple misdemeanors, though most of my practice is devoted to DUIs. I enjoy my line of work immensely and love to take on a new challenging case. I pride myself on being a thorough and effective negotiator and an accessible counselor. Before going into private practice, I gained invaluable experience as a public defender. I am a trial attorne to my core. There is no leverage in negotiating a case if an attorney doesn't understand what the implications of trial would be and isn't prepared to take the case all the way if necessary.
I am the Founder and Managing Attorney of NextLaw PLLC in Tacoma. Prior to that, I founded and served as CEO of Puget Law Group LLP for over a decade, leading it to become the largest Criminal and Injury law firm in the Pacific Northwest, if not the West Coast. I am a former prosecuting attorney with nearly twenty years' experience handling DUI and other criminal cases in the Puget Sound area and beyond. I went to law school with the goal of becoming a prosecutor and began my legal career with the Skagit County Prosecutor's Office, where I handled several jury trials before graduating cum laude from Seattle University School of Law in 2005. After passing the Bar, I continued working as a prosecutor for several years in Federal Way and Pierce County, handling hundreds of DUI and criminal cases.. Over time I realized that, despite a high percentage of success at trial, I was more interested in helping people than I was in prosecuting them. I left the prosecutor's office in 2010 and went into private practice with Park Chenaur, a Personal Injury firm, where I handled both criminal defense and personal injury cases. In 2013, I went out on my own to start my own firm, Gerl Law PLLC. In 2016 I rebranded as Puget Law Group.. In 2019, Puget Law Group became a partnership, with a goal to develop a Personal Injury practice alongside our Criminal Defense practice.. Over the next five years, I led PLG to become the fastest growing Criminal and Injury Law Firm in America (Inc. 5000, Law Firm 500) and the fastest growing law firm of any kind in Washington state. For the past few years we've been listed among the Inc. 5000 "Fastest Growing Companies in America," the Puget Sound Business Journal's "Fastest Growing Private Companies in Washington," and Law Firm 500's "Fastest Growing Law Firms in America." Under my leadership, we were voted "Best in the PNW" in four categories by the Seattle Times.. In January 2024 I left PLG to found NextLaw PLLC. Specializing in the same practice areas as before, but with a renewed focus on and commitment toward the client experience.. I am a member of the Washington State Bar Association and Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association. I am licensed to practice law in courts throughout Washington in both State and Federal Court.. In my spare time I enjoys sports, cars, graphic design, barbecuing, and being dad to three boys aged 16, 10, and 4.
I am happy to talk law all day if you want to talk law all day. Or I can just keep it simple and easy. We have a complex and nuanced legal system that works surprising well. Of course it has flaws and could be better. But sometimes those flaws can benefit you. I'll guide you through this dynamic system to get the best outcome for you.

When Gina isn’t in the courtroom, she enjoys spending time adventuring with her husband (Todd), her two children, and her dogs.
For over 15 years, I've been a criminal trial attorney, and I have nearly 20 years total legal experience. I enjoy fighting for my clients - most of whom are facing the toughest challenge of their lives.. When I opened my private firm in 2011, I saw a need for civilian defense attorneys knowledgeable in military law -- someone to assess the consequences faced by servicemembers accused of crimes or misconduct, but who could also assist clients in military and civilian court. Working with servicemembers has been a great fit for me with my background; I am the daughter of a career Navy NCO, and I married an Army Officer. Just about every generation of my family has sent at least one family member off to war. They fight for us: now I get to fight for them.. While I will always devote a significant portion of my practice to military cases, I also enjoy work with clients from all walks of life. I listen to my clients and try to understand each client's goals and values, so that we can work closely together to achieve the best outcome. I pride myself on my legal advocacy in the courtroom and in my written work product. Furthermore, I have advanced training in negotiation and alternative dispute resolution. Often, I can get good results working with prosecutors, Commanders, and law enforcement. when that is appropriate or desirable. For those cases that are not able to be resolved, I work constantly to hone my trial skills, and I am proud of my reputation as a tough litigator.. I am blessed and honored to defend the Constitution for a living. My clients appreciate that I am passionate about what I do and the fact that I fight hard for them in court, but also like that I'm respectful and down-to-earth. Although I credit my Duke and UW educational background for developing my legal reasoning and writing abilities, what makes me a successful attorney is my hardworking, positive attitude, and my passion for defending people who are facing their toughest legal challenges. If you have any questions about my practice and how I can help you, please call or email me. I offer a free consultation for cases in my practice area, so you can see if I am a good fit for you and your case.
Facing criminal charges is a complicated and intimidating process, requiring an experienced and zealous advocate on your side. Throughout this challenging time you need someone unafraid to stand up and protect your rights. I have practiced criminal defense exclusively for my entire career and am passionate about defending people.
