After completing his undergraduate degree in Law & Society at the University of California, David taught school, for a short time, before beginning his legal studies at Valparaiso University School of Law. While in law school, David clerked for the Honorable Judge Julia Jent of the Porter County Superior Court in Valparaiso, Indiana.. Upon receiving his Juris Doctorate in 2002, Mr. Barrett relocated to the Pacific Northwest to begin his legal career in private practice with a mid-size Seattle law firm that was engaged primarily with personal injury, immigration, family law, and criminal defense matters. In 2008, David accepted a position as Deputy Prosecutor and Deputy Coroner for Kittitas County.. David Barrett joined GLP Attorneys in 2011 and has since focused his practice entirely on representing the injured. He also regularly assists health care providers in medical lien matters and is a frequent speaker at seminars for health care providers sponsored by GLP Attorneys.

As the daughter of an attorney, I grew up knowing I too wanted to practice law. I was provided the opportunity to work in my father’s firm starting in junior high school. I quickly came to appreciate and understand the nature of work performed on behalf of individuals who have been injured as a result of the careless and negligent acts of others. Working with these injured individuals and learning how the law could be employed to help those incapable of helping themselves provided the foundation for my legal career.. I graduated from Bellarmine Preparatory High School in Tacoma, Washington and received my undergraduate degree in Business from Loyola University Chicago in Illinois. I graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2012. While at Gonzaga, I was a member of the Moot Court Honors Council and the National Moot Court Team, served as President of Gonzaga Law Association for Justice, as well as a Civil Procedure Tutor, and Student Ambassador.. Following law school I returned to the Tacoma area where I practiced in a personal injury law firm prior to joining Holman Law.
