Professional Experience. Tom’s practice over the past 35 years has been extremely varied.. He’s practiced in complex litigation, hearings and trials in state courts, federal courts, and bankruptcy courts, in private arbitrations, mediations and appeals. He also has substantial experience representing debtors, creditors, trustees and committees in Bankruptcy Court and has successfully reorganized several companies and individuals, and represented creditors.. Tom started his practice in 1981 at Treon, Warnicke, Dann & Roush of Phoenix (after having been a law clerk there for two years) in the commercial practice section, where he was trained in litigation and trial skills by two former Maricopa County Superior Court judges. He started what became a substantial bankruptcy practice in 1982 when he represented Clifford Wolfswinkel in bankruptcy court in his dispute with his brothers. After that, he continued doing work in the bankruptcy court in several commercial cases.. Tom left the Treon firm in 1987 to practice in Chandler as Littler & Miller for a short time before forming Warnicke & Littler, P.L.C. in 1989 to perform the bankruptcy examination of Charlie Keating’s American Continental Corporation.. After twenty three years with his own firm, he joined the Las Vegas firm of Gordon Silver in March of 2010 to open and build its first Arizona office. He moved to Phoenix with his family in 1957. He went to grade school in west Phoenix and graduated from West Phoenix High School in 1972. He played the drums in both grade school and in the marching band at West High. Tom obtained his Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, in General Business Administration from the ASU College of Business in 1978 and graduated from the Arizona State University School of Law in 1981. In law school he was on the Moot Court Board, was a member of the Order of the Coif, and participated every year as a writer and actor in the annual Law Follies. Tom now resides in Tempe.. Tom is married and has three children. His daughter, who graduated from the University of Southern California (English; Creative Writing) and Kings College, London (English Literature) is an editor at St. Martin’s Press in New York City; his son graduated from New York University (Dramatic Writing) and is a writer-producer living in New York City.
