Mr. Deason received his undergraduate degree at Loyola Marymount University graduating cum laude. He then taught high school and went on to earn his law degree from Loyola Law School in December of 1982. Six months later, Mr. Deason was admitted to practice law after passing the California Bar exam. Upon passing the bar, Mr. Deason started as an associate lawyer at the Law Offices of Edwin C. Martin, Jr. He soon became a partner of the firm, which changed names to Martin & Deason, in 1987. After Mr. Martin retired in 1994, Mr. Deason changed the name of the practice to the Law Offices of Edward J. Deason.

Gerald Agnew has successfully tried over 100 civil jury trials representing consumers and their families in catastrophic injury and wrongful death actions involving defective products, construction accidents, premises, bicycle and vehicular accidents, medical malpractice, elder abuse and other acts of negligence. Verdictum Juris named him as the "Southern California Plaintiff Trial Lawyer of the Year," and California Lawyer has listed him as one of California's "most respected plaintiff trial lawyers." He is regarded as one of the "Top 100 Super Lawyers in Southern California" (top 5%) for the years 2006 through 2011 and has most recently been considered one ofthe "Top 10 Super Lawyers in Southern California" for 2011. Mr. Agnew has also been recognized as one of the "Best Lawyers in America" for the past 18 years and has met the standards of excellence of the American Trial Lawyers Association for selection to its ratings for the "Top 100 Trial Lawyers."
