Terence E. Shanley attended Loyola University in Rome, Italy and graduated from the College of the Holy Cross. He received his law degree from Columbia University Law School.  He is admitted to practice in all of the federal and state trial and appellate courts in New York State.  He was a member of the Committee on Character and Fitness, New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department.        Mr. Shanley is a member of the Rensselaer County, Albany County, and New York State Bar Associations. In addition he has been member of the Collaborative Divorce Association of the Capitol District since 2009.  He has represented clients in matrimonial and family law matters all over the State of New York for over thirty-five years with a special emphasis on litigation, trials and appeals.  Mr. Shanley served with the Legal Aid Society of the City of New York Criminal Division from 1970 to 1972.  He was also Special Counsel, New York State Commissions of Investigation from 1972 to 1974, and he was Law Assistant to the Rensselaer County Court Judge from 1990 to 1994. He has specialized in all facets of matrimonial, custodial and family law, with a special emphasis on litigation, trials and appeals, since 1978.

Nicholas Dorando received his Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Politics, and Society from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, would go on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School, and has been admitted to practice in New York State since 2016. Nicholas’s law school career was defined by a focus in courtroom practice, having been selected twice for the school’s traveling moot court trial team, as well as being the recipient of the Capital District Trial Lawyers’ Association Prize and an inductee to the Order of the Barristers for demonstrated excellence in Courtroom advocacy. During his time at Albany Law, Nicholas handled cases at the school’s Family Violence Litigation and Immigration Clinic and clerked at firms in Albany and Saratoga.. Upon his admission to the New York bar, he litigated cases in the fields of family and matrimonial law, assisted clients with workers’ compensation claims. Nicholas Dorando is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Albany County Bar Association, and Saratoga County Bar Association.

Cynthia J. LaClair, Esq., (formerly Cynthia J. Tippins) has been engaged in a private law practice limited to complex matrimonial and custody litigation for twenty-seven (27) years, since her 1988 graduation from Albany Law School. She began as a law clerk, then Associate with the Law Firm of Timothy M. Tippins in Troy, New York and became partner in Tippins & Cornaire, PLLC. In subsequent years, she formed her own private firm and was partner in Harris, Conway & Donovan, PLLC from 2009 until September 1, 2016 when she and Lauren K. DeLuca, Esq. formed LaClair & DeLuca, PLLC.. Ms. LaClair is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and lectured for several years for the MatLaw Seminar continuing legal education program, as well as, New York State Bar Association programs. She is a member of the Albany County Bar Association and the Capital District Women’s Bar Association.. Ms. LaClair is a 1985 summa cum laude graduate of the State University of New York at Albany and resides in Brunswick, New York with her husband, John LaClair.
