I started practicing law in Iowa in 1973.  In 1986 I moved to Miami to pursue an LLM in estate planning.  I received the degree in 1987 and moved to California where I was admitted to the California Bar.  I lived and practiced in California until 1993 when I moved to Tucson.  I was admitted to the Arizona Bar in 1992.  I continue to work with clients in Iowa, California and Arizona.  My practice is limited to estate planning, administration of trusts and probate estates, and charitable estate planning.     My wife, Judy, and I have been married since 1969.  We enjoy traveling to New York, Michigan and Hawaii to visit our 3 children and spouses and 6 grandchildren.  When not working or traveling, I enjoy biking and outdoor activities.

Doug is a former Navy Nuclear Submarine officer and Air Force JAG who worked with the Department of Defense and Department of State (the US Embassy in Kabul) while deployed to Qatar and Afghanistan to help draft the Status of Forces Agreement and Bilateral Security Agreement signed by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai in September 2014.
