His primary motivator is to see clients empowered through understanding, and protected by an assertive legal advocate.. Prior to practicing law, he worked in DC on Capitol Hill and in Real Estate in Los Angeles, CA. A natural activator, Hunter works tirelessly to get transactions moved to closing in a timely and exact manner.. I grew up in Virginia Beach and graduated from Kempsville High School. I attended Old Dominion University where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. From there I decided to stay at Old Dominion University and work on my Master's Degree in Urban Studies & Planning because I was interested in how government could make people's lives better through adaptive reuse and redevelopment.. Upon obtaining my Master's Degree in Urban Studies & Planning I went to work for the City of Williamsburg as a Zoning Officer and helped the city manage a huge growth in real estate development in the late 1990's.. I graduated from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law in 2003. I then had the good fortune of obtaining a year-long Clerkship with the Judges in the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth. It was a great honor to work for such a great court and hard-working staff.. While working at the court I met many attorney's and members of the community and upon completion of my clerkship I entered private practice.. The primary focus of my practice has been on real estate and real estate finance issues connected to the financial collapse of mortgage banking industry. I began representing real estate investors and developers as the economy grew in the mid-2000’s. When the real estate bubble burst I helped those same individuals stabilize their real estate portfolios. Since mid-2009 my firm has been at the vanguard of developing the law in Virginia on Loan Modifications and Foreclosure Defense. I also handle a wide variety of civil matters including insurance matters, personal injury, wills and estates, business law and entity creation.. I believe in a fair and realistic outcome to most legal problems. You will always get the truth from me- I will not tell you want to hear to take your money.. I have two beautiful children, Truman and Pippa.
