While I have been an attorney for 2 years, I have also been a Certified Public Accountant for the past 17 years. I have worked in management of fortune 100 companies and small companies. When I am not litigating workers' compensation claims, I spend much of time with family or volunteering. I sit on several local non-profit boards and volunteer as a soccer coach, baseball coach, and at meditation retreats throughout Northern California.

The majority of my practice is focused on juvenile law. I am very dedicated and compassionate about representing parent's rights in juvenile court. I am also a parent. When the system accuses a parent of abuse, it is an extremely serious accusation. Such an accusation must be handled with earnest, intelligence, and good advice. I have devoted a majority of my entire career on this area of law. Recently, I had a case reversed in the First District Court of Appeal by a unanimous decision. I wrote the appeal and presented oral argument to the court. The court was convinced. I believe in hard work and good client contact.
Qiana has spent over ten years dedicated to criminal defense work. She accepts nothing but the best from her team of investigators and legal assistants. The reason is simple--you deserve the best on your side. Qiana attended two of the top schools in the country to prepare herself to do battle for you. She received her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. When dealing with the criminal justice system, she puts her psychology degree to work by analyzing the witnesses, the judge, the prosecutor, and the jurors to determine the best way to present your case. In order to get the best outcome, Qiana recognizes she needs to get into her opponents' heads.. She went to law school at one of the most prestigious schools on the West Coast, the University of Southern California. While there, she did not wait to garner the experience she needed to best serve you. Rather, she worked in criminal justice clinics, interned in the office of the Los Angeles County Public Defender, externed in Alameda County and was on Moot Court. Qiana won her very first mock jury trial defending an armed robbery defendant. She also worked with real life clients in and out of prison on misdemeanors, felonies, and parole. She learned the system from the inside out.. The San Francisco Public Defender's Office is arguably one of the best defense firms in the United States. She worked there for six and a half years learning all the best defense skills and exercising her talents to the benefit of thousands of people charged with crimes from misdemeanors to the most serious felonies. A long career at various Public Defender Offices has given her the opportunity to work on any and every type of criminal case imaginable.. Upon leaving there, she founded this firm to give the same level of elite defense to a broader range of clients throughout California, particularly San Francisco, Richmond, Walnut Creek, Hayward, San Leandro, San Mateo, Oakland, Marin, Vallejo, Fairfield, Vacaville, Fremont, Berkeley, Pleasanton, Santa Rosa, Sacramento, Sonoma, Napa, Petaluma, Dublin, San Jose, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Yolo County and the 9th Circuit. Qiana is fluent in Spanish.
PROTECTING YOUR RIGHTS AND FUTURE FOR OVER 30 YEARS. I have been defending the rights of people arrested and accused of criminal offenses for over 30 years. I have personally handled thousands of criminal cases in my career, and my clients have included students, parents, husbands, wives, career criminals, professionals, and CEO's of large corporations.. My goal is simple: to represent your legal interests with the utmost diligence, excellence, and compassion. I understand that privacy is important to my clients. I have had many high profile cases and I have declined appearances on Oprah, Dr. Phil, The Today Show, and Good Morning America for the purpose of protecting my clients' privacy. Promoting or marketing my business is not my priority; the outcome of my clients' cases and their privacy takes precedence.. My philosophy is simple: I believe in quality representation at all stages of the criminal proceedings, such as before, and after arrest, through all proceedings in court, and I am always available to my clients when the case is closed.. The criminal process can be very confusing and intimidating for the accused and the accused's family. Thus, I believe in educating my clients and their families not only on the judicial process, but also on every legal aspect relevant to the case.. When you call I will give you honest answers. Beware of lawyers who claim they never lost a trial or that you need a team of lawyers to defend you.. I am most proud of the cases that never made it to court. I look forward to meeting you and/or your family.

Over the past 20 years, we have represented literally hundreds of men and women who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma, lung cancer and asbestosis. This experience has been “bitter/sweet” for me. The sweetness comes from meeting new people and working very hard to generate some measure of compensation for them and their families. The bitterness comes from the sorrow that each family experiences when a loved one is diagnosed with a serious disease. We, too, feel that sorrow.. Representing men and women who have been diagnosed with asbestos-related diseases has become my life’s work. I am a witness to what these diseases can do to a person, and to their family. My own father has been diagnosed with asbestosis. He worked in an asbestos plant for more than 30 years. Over the years, I have represented several of his co-workers. These men were diagnosed with mesothelioma, lung cancer and asbestosis. Many of these men I had met when I was a child.. Making A Difference. Ours is a small practice. We decided that we wanted to keep our case load small so that we can spend the time necessary to really know our clients, and really understand their concerns. We know that the diagnosis of an asbestos-related disease brings with it a degree of uncertainty and anxiety. We understand your fear, and we want to help.. My entire staff is on a first name basis with everyone we represent. I had the opportunity to personally select each and every worker in our office, and you will find that excellence and compassion are the hall marks of their work. They work hard, and care deeply.. As a lawyer with more than 20 years of experience in asbestos litigation, I will work on every aspect of your case, from the filing of the complaint to the entry of a final judgment. I will work for you, and be with you, every step of the way. Not only do we care about your case, we care about you.
My practice is focused almost entirely on civil litigation, with an emphasis on ethics and professional liability, particularly legal malpractice and related issues, real estate litigation, insurance coverage litigation, and appellate advocacy. I am a certified by the State Bar of California as a specialist in Legal Malpractice Law.
My name is Paul Schroeder. I have been practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1996. I have worked as a partner and an associate at a variety of law firms. On March 1, 2014, I left my prior firm, where I was a shareholder, to start my own office. I left so I could provide my clients with more personalized service at reasonable rates. My goal with any matter, whether litigated or non-litigated, is to resolve it as quickly and efficiently as possible. While my office is in the Bay Area, I handle litigated and non-litigated matters around the country and around the world, regularly supervising counsel in other states and countries on behalf of my clients, including, Norway, South Korea, Hong Kong, Slovenia, Bolivia and others. I am available to my clients at all hours, whether I am in my office, at home, or on the road for business or pleasure.. I typically provide a free initial consultation over the phone to triage a new matter. This allows me to evaluate a potential client’s issues quickly and to determine if a lawyer is needed, if I am the right lawyer and to provide a referral if I think one of my colleagues is a better fit for any particular client.. I have developed a solid reputation over the past two decades for dedicated service to my clients and for successful resolution of their matters. I achieve this by listening to my clients to understand their goals and needs. In litigated matters, I advocate strongly for my clients, while trying to avoid picking unnecessary (and often costly) fights. In non-litigated matters, I get the best deal for my clients, while recognizing that when a business deal is involved, both parties need to be satisfied with the agreement. My job is to try and foster a deal, not be a roadblock to clients achieving their goals.. I provide ongoing preventative guidance and legal direction to individuals and businesses. I spend a lot of time thinking about my client’s matters; whether how to order discovery or motion work in a litigated matter to achieve the best result, and get a case resolved quickly or how to write a contract to ensure my client’s needs are protected and we are in a good position if the relationship falls apart.. Prevention often proves to be far less costly than waiting for things to go wrong and dealing with the consequences. At least half of what I do for my clients is helping them avoid unnecessary fights with unnecessary costs. Ideally, I work with my clients proactively before matters reach the point where litigation is necessary. We do this by discussing their contracts, and business practices and often reforming them. I look at clients’ insurance programs to make sure they have appropriate coverage. I also frequently refer my clients to other professionals to help them grow their business. Even in litigated matters, I take a big picture view and try and work with my clients to avoid future litigation and to position them for success if future litigation is unavoidable.. Personally, I graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1995. I graduated from the University of California in 1992 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. I live in San Ramon with my wife and daughter. I enjoy cycling, travel, cooking, wine, and cheering on the Cal Bears, Oakland Athletics, Kansas City Royals, San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs.. If you are looking for an attorney who has a solid background in litigation, contracts, commercial and business law and construction/development representation, I would be happy to speak with you. Schedule an initial consultation with my office to find out more.
