My goal is to provide professional, high quality, reasonably priced legal services in the handling of tax controversies, which include tax audits, IRS appeals and Federal Court actions.. I decided to pursue my interest in tax law after some 28 years of legal practice in intellectual property and general corporate law.  I earned a Master of Science in Taxation from California State University East Bay in 2010 to launch my career in the tax field.  I worked for the Internal Revenue Service, including a stint as a Revenue Agent, to gain some practical inside knowledge concerning the IRS before "hanging out my shingle."I work with carefully selected clients with the goal of insuring that they are treated fairly by the federal and state tax authorities and that they pay only the minimum taxes legally required.  I also seek to educate my clients to minimize the likelihood of their experiencing future tax controversies.

I have extensive knowledge and experience in tax law from my experience as a former litigator of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as well as my advanced degree in taxation. I also have a broad base of litigation experience and represent clients in a variety of legal matters, including but not limited to trust & estate, commercial, and real estate litigation, as well as service to judges in state circuit and federal district courts.

I am a family oriented attorney, personally and professionally, helping families to plan for succession and deal with aging parents and problem children.  Ihave been active since 2005 with Children's Hospital Oakland Foundation and since 2010 a Director of the Hospital Board, Chairing its' Audit Committee.
