While in College I had the experience of watching a close and dear friend go through a horrible experience.  On a sunny summer day he and I were looking for a new apartment for the upcoming year.  Chet was driving.  He was stopped at an intersection, saw cross traffic was clear, but missed the pedestrian cutting the corner of the intersection hidden by the shade of a gigantic tree.  Unfortunately, Chet struck her with his pick up truck.  She was 88 years old, fragile and died.  What I witnessed over the next three years made me into the attorney I am today.  It compelled me to attend law school.  It compelled me to remember the most important thing as a lawyer - while cases are similar, just like people, no case is truly alike.  My firm makes it a priority to listen to its clients and look for the individualism in each case.  If you are represented by Barger Law Group PC, you will be represented by lawyers who know you, listen to you, and respect you.

Prior to attending law school, I gained experience working with seniors and people with disabilities while earning a master’s degree in social work. During law school, I added a financial perspective to my background working as a securities broker for Charles Schwab, Inc. Upon graduation, I clerked for the Honorable C. Jean Stewart, Judge of the Denver Probate Court. As an attorney, I draw on my background, representing seniors, people with disabilities, and their families on a range of planning, administration, and crisis-management issues.. Jorden graduated from Cal State University San Marcos in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Studies and Sociology, and in 2013 received his Juris Doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. Working full-time to support himself through law school, Jorden still found time to donate over 100 pro bono hours to the San Diego Family Law Facilitators Office helping families through complex divorce, child custody battles and domestic violence issues. He also donated time as a Mediator for the National Conflict Resolution Center, and as a Law Clerk for a small personal injury firm.. Jorden moved to Oregon to be closer to his family. He took and passed the Oregon State Bar Exam in 2016 and opened his own practice in the Sellwood area specializing in estate planning.. While building his practice Jorden met and fell in love with his partner Emily, and they now have two children Elijah and Skylar. They are deeply committed to their family and their community, participating in local events such as food drives, early learning development programs and charitable fundraisers.. Christian Nathan Scritsmier grew up in Oregon.  He graduated from Jesuit High School, earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Oregon, and studied law at Willamette University.  While in law school, Christian clerked for the Marion County District Attorney’s Office and served as Executive Editor of the Willamette Journal of International Law & Dispute Resolution.  He entered Willamette’s Dispute Resolution program, which U.S. News & World Report ranked at that time as one of the top ten dispute resolution programs in the country.  Upon graduating from law school, Christian earned a Dispute Resolution Certificate in addition to his law degree..
