When I was growing up, like every other kid, adults always used to ask me what I wanted to do with my life. A lot of the time I didn’t know what to say or I’d just give a random response. But when I really stopped to think about that question, I knew that I wanted to do something that would help people who faced a difficult time in their life.. From a young age, I was always around law, because my dad was a lawyer. After spending some time with him in his office and talking to him about his job, I realized that I could fulfill my dream of helping people by becoming a lawyer, too.. I grew up in Florida, and became a lawyer in 2003. For a few years, I worked as a public defender in the Florida courthouses. In 2006, my dad and I became business partners.. For the next six years, we spent every day together, fighting for our clients and breaking open the tough cases. It is an incredible experience to work with someone that you love who shares your passion. But, in 2012, I was ready for a new challenge.. In 2012, I moved to Connecticut and joined the team at Ruane Attorneys. Moving away from a law firm where I was a partner and got to work with my dad every day, I didn’t know what to expect at Ruane Attorneys. But, Ruane Attorneys quickly accepted me into their “family”, and I haven’t looked back!. When I moved to Connecticut, I wanted to do more to help people outside of my work. So, I decided to get my yoga teaching certification, and I’ve been teaching yoga ever since. Yoga is a big passion of mine when I’m not working, and teaching is another passion that moving to Connecticut helped me realized.

As a bilingual speaker, I realized from an early age the difficulty that people who do not speak English in this country face.. I knew that whatever profession I chose, I wanted to use my ability to speak both Spanish and English to help those who cannot speak English.. That is when I learned about different types of law related to non-English speakers, and decided to become a lawyer. I worked at a nonprofit immigration group straight out of law school helping Spanish speaking immigrants, and then I did personal injury for two years. After that, I got married and moved to Connecticut, where I started working at Ruane Attorneys.. I became a lawyer because I believe everyone deserves competent representation, regardless of where they are in life. No one is perfect and people make mistakes. Sometimes those mistakes require the help of a lawyer. My favorite part about practicing law is being able to positively affect someone's life by making a hard situation easier to manage.. I'm fully bilingual so when it comes to the immigration cases at the firm, I like meeting people from different countries and I firmly believe that everyone who wants to live here in the United States should be able to do so legally. I’m also passionate about my family, my dogs, and my future baby. I love the outdoors and love running and hiking with my dogs.
