I started working in geriatrics when I was 18 years old. I began as an activities coordinator at an assisted living facility and later received my certified nursing assistant license. These credentials landed me several jobs in hospitals and care communities while I attended college and law school. When deciding what area to practice after law school, elder law was the natural choice.. To me, elder law is all about family. It is everything you might do to prepare yourself and your family for a time when you are incapacitated or deceased. These are sensitive, personal decisions that need to be met with compassion and understanding. If illness or death has already occurred, I focus my efforts on protecting your assets and administering your estate as smoothly and quickly as possible. I find this work both intellectually and emotionally satisfying.. When I’m not at the office, I’m busy being “Mom.” With three little kids, life at the Kahl Residence is never boring. Some of our favorite activities include riding bikes, hosting backyard cookouts, and serving our church family. We work hard and we play hard. I have been blessed with many good things in my life, and my goal to help you take care of the good things in yours.

I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Denver and my Juris Doctorate degree from the Appalachian School of Law. I have practiced law in Virginia since 2008 and have represented clients in cases involving divorce, custody, child support, protective orders, evictions, third-party debt collectors, personal injury, estate litigation, estate planning, guardianships, conservatorships, and other civil matters.. I have been with The Heritage Law Group since 2015 and currently focus my practice on estate planning, guardianships, conservatorships, fiduciary services (acting as Trustee or Power of Attorney), and litigation. I am an active member of the Virginia Peninsula Estate Planning Council and the I’Anson Hoffman American Inn of Court. I am proud to have been a part of changing Virginia guardianship law and was honored to speak in front of the Virginia General Assembly in support of the change.. I have lived all over the country, but for the last 10 years I have been a resident of the peninsula. My family and I enjoy swimming, boating, camping, all sports, and spending time with loved ones. I have been a Denver Broncos fan since childhood, and a Virginia Cavalier fan by marriage..
