Farral Haber earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, cum laude, and graduated as valedictorian from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Florida. She earned her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law.. Attorney Heidi R. Cortez was raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She graduated from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis with a degree in Forensic and Investigative Sciences with an emphasis in Biology.. While obtaining her degree, Heidi interned at the Marion County Coroner’s Office. She went on to obtain her Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law – Houston. During law school, Heidi interned with the Harris County Prosecutor’s Office in Houston, Texas. Additionally, she was a legal assistant at the Law Office of Perry Bass in Houston, Texas.. After graduating from law school at the beginning of the pandemic, she came home to Indiana.Since returning home and passing the Indiana State Bar, Heidi has been practicing law in northeast Indiana.. Ryan Tatum grew up on a farm and ranch in central Oregon where he learned the importance of hard work. He moved to the Treasure Valley to attend Northwest Nazarene University and also attended Boise State University. He worked for the Payette County Sheriff’s Office from 2005 until he left in 2013 to finish his undergrad and attend law school. While at Payette County, Mr. Tatum worked as a Detention (jail) Deputy then as a Patrol Deputy. Mr. Tatum was a Field Training Officer, Breath Testing Specialist, DUI Detection and Legal Update Trainer, and was certified in Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (A-RIDE). Mr. Tatum took calls for service of all types and specialized in DUI detection and testing. Many DUI impairments were due to alcohol, but Mr. Tatum also placed an emphasis on accurate determination of whether a driver was under the influence due to prescription drug(s) or illicit drug(s). Mr. Tatum was a resource to other officers dealing with suspected DUI-D (drugs) stops and administration of sobriety tests during Spanish language stops. Mr. Tatum led all in-county officers in both total arrests and DUI arrests in 2010, 2011, and 2012, yet he also strived to treat all individuals fairly, preserving not only incriminating evidence but also all evidence favorable to a defendant (exculpatory evidence). Mr. Tatum believed that his job as a law enforcement officer was to protect people, treat everyone fairly, and always tell the full truth about what had happened. In addition to local and administrative testimony, Mr. Tatum testified several times in federal district court on motions to suppress and at trials in cases resulting in sentences of greater than 30 years.. Mr. Tatum completed a Bachelor of Science in Public Safety from Capella University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in September of 2014. In August of 2014, Mr. Tatum began law school. During the summers following his 1L year, Mr. Tatum interned at Bublitz Law Office. Mr. Tatum was selected for a Summer Associate position with Bublitz Law Office following his 2L year.  In his 3L year, Mr. Tatum participated in the Criminal Law Clinic as a Prosecuting Extern through the Boise City Attorney’s Office where he worked a partial deputy prosecutor's caseload for academic credit. Like many law students, Mr. Tatum balanced studying and experiential classes with other obligations. These included staying involved in the lives of his seven children, a part time job, being a two term president of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society Student Chapter, serving as President of the Student Bar Association, and serving in church leadership positions. Mr. Tatum graduated in the top third of his class and was admitted to the Idaho State Bar in 2017.. In the fall of 2017, the Tatum family moved to Helena, MT, for Mrs. Tatum’s work. While in Helena, Mr. Tatum worked for the Department of Health and Human Services as a skilled and unskilled nursing home facility surveyor, auditing facilities’ and medical providers’ compliance with federal Medicare and Medicaid regulations as well as state regulations. When the opportunity arose to move back to the Boise area, the Tatum family did so and Mr. Tatum accepted a position with a Boise firm, where he practiced criminal defense and law enforcement officer representation.  In 2023, Mr. Tatum co-founded Tatum McBride Law, P.C., a firm dedicated soley to defending the rights of individuals facing criminal charges.  Mr. Tatum is a member of the Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association. Prior to the closure of Concordia University Portland causing the closure of Concordia Law in Boise, he served as a mentor for law students at Concordia Law where he was also active with leadership of the alumni association.

Ryan became interested in law at a young age playing board games with his siblings. He was always the first person to read the rulebook and make sure no one was operating outside the lines. He was drawn to law school after a brief stint in the Boise restaurant and stage theatre scene. As a law student, he worked for the Nez Perce Tribe. There he discovered how much fun it is to fight government overreach, especially when the government is breaking its own rules. After school, he clerked for a District Judge in Payette, Idaho. He was able to observe the ins-and-outs of the criminal process and discovered his passion: Criminal Defense. From there, he found a career at the Ada County Public Defender’s office, where he was quickly dubbed a “trial cockroach” and took over 30 cases to trial over the next few years, winning more than he lost.. Ryan has been with Attorneys of Idaho since 2021 and is the Criminal Defense Partner. He is active in pursuing justice in-and-out of the courtroom as he is an active member of the Criminal Defense Legislative Committee that lobbies the State Legislature for criminal justice reforms. Scott Gatewood is currently an active member of the Idaho State Bar and has been for over 10 years, having extensive court room experience as an attorney and litigator. Lisa brings almost a decade of criminal defense litigation experience to the firm’s team.  She has spent the much of her career in a courtroom and advocates for and works to protect her client’s constitutional rights.  Lisa has partnered with Sean, a member of our team, on several complex criminal defense cases and teamed with Alexandria, another firm member, to work on challenging family law issues and involved family law legal proceedings.. After law school Lisa went into private practice in southern Idaho; while with her firm, Lisa practiced criminal defense law.  After a couple of years, she strategically chose to expand her legal acumen, and in 2009 Lisa became a prosecutor in North Idaho.  However, as a serious advocate for due process rights, Lisa returned to criminal defense work and became a public defender for a well-regarded public defender’s offices in the State of Idaho, the Kootenai County Public Defender’s Office.  This position required Lisa to spend an extensive amount of time in a courtroom trying both   misdemeanor and felony cases; thus, the courtroom has become a comfortable arena for her while also exponentially increasing her litigation skills.. In 2016 Lisa brought her years of experience back to the private sector and today litigates both misdemeanor and felony cases.  She has also extended her negotiation and trial skills to family law clients.  She is a valuable member of our team and is focused on our clients’ needs..
