Nicole M. Cotton has devoted her career to fighting for the rights of people facing criminal allegations. She earned her bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University, and her juris doctor from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center.. Nicole was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1976. After moving to Palm Beach County as a child, she went to local schools and graduated from Lake Worth Community High School in 1994. In 2003, she enrolled in law school, continued her work at the Firm through her schooling, and graduated in December of 2006. Since my college years at Florida State University I have always been interested in the law. Majoring in Criminology, I developed a passion for understanding and defending the rights of American citizens against unwarranted governmental intrusion. This passion extended to law school and Stetson University College of Law, where I honed my advocacy skills with the intention of becoming a trial lawyer. During my years at Stetson, I was dedicated to helping others, and received the William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award in recognition of my efforts.. I began to test my advocacy skills while still in law school as a Certified Legal Intern for the 6th Judicial Circuit's juvenile prosecution unit.
