I have been a trial attorney for 17 years, practicing both criminal defense and civil litigation.  I regularly try cases in state and federal court in both Oregon and Washington.. One of my strengths and my favorite part of practicing law is relationship building.  I take great pride in the “customer service” component of my job.  My client advocacy goes beyond court appearances and negotiations.  It is the personal connections I make with my clients that distinguishes me from other lawyers.. Prior entering private practice, I was an attorney with a large insurance defense firm where I handled complex multi-party civil cases in the areas of personal injury, construction defect and real estate disputes and gained valuable insight about how large insurance companies and their law firms handle cases.. In my former life, I was a stand-up comic, winning the Portland Comedy Competition in 2000.. When not practicing law, I enjoy spending time with my husband Nathan and daughter Georgia and volunteering with a variety of non-profit organizations in Portland.

I was born in the mountains outside of Wolf Creek in rural Josephine County.  I grew up in Ashland and am a proud graduate of Ashland Middle School and Ashland High School.. I left the Rogue Valley for college and law school at the University of Oregon.  After law school, I worked as a judicial law clerk at the Oregon Court of Appeals for the Honorable Ellen Rosenblum, who is now the Attorney General for the State of Oregon.  I then took a job at the state public defender's office, where I represented hundreds of criminal defendants and further sharpened my legal skills.  I loved my job, but I always missed Southern Oregon.  I am proud to offer excellent representation in all of Oregon, with offices in Ashland and Portland.. After college, Noah earned a Master of Public Health from Boston University School of Public Health while simultaneuously working at a pulmonary immunology research lab. Noah moved to Oregon in 2004 to attend Lewis and Clark Law School where he was an editor at the Lewis and Clark Law review and earned an Enviromental and Natural Resources Law Certificate.. During Law School, Noah worked as a law clerk at the Department of Justice Trial Division in Salem and as a Law Clerk for the Federal Public Defender. After graduation, Noah worked as a Staff Attorney at Metropolitan Public Defender Services, Inc. and handled hundreds of cases including felonies, misdemeanors, civil commitments, probation violations and restraining orders. Noah's current practice is a mix of criminal defense and civil rights litigation in Oregon's state and federal courts.

William was born and raised on the western slopes of the Wallowa mountains in eastern Oregon.  From there, he criss-crossed the nation, attending film school in New York City, remodeling houses in Seattle and landscaping in the San Juan Islands, before settling in Portland in 2008.. You should know that I was suspended for 30 days for, in essence, inconveniencing the court. I was found to have engaged in conduct that was deemed prejudicial to the administration of justice. That conduct consists of: (1) appearing by telephone without prior authorization of the Josephine County Court; (2) not answering the telephone call of the Josephine County Court because either the receptionist was using the bathroom at the time of the call or the office telephone system malfunctioned; (3) missing a court appearance in Josephine County because my calendaring clerk made a clerical error; and (4) the late filing of a motion to postpone a trial in Josephine County.  In my experience, Josephine County Oregon is a unique place. As a result of the suspension, I have changed the way that I handle my business. I have replaced the office telephone system and I personally attend to all of my calendaring needs. I no longer rely on any employee in any dealing with the Josephine County Court.    Commonly, lawyers are suspended for misconduct for an act of fraud, deceit, dishonesty, criminal conduct, or misrepresentation that reflects adversely on the lawyer's fitness to practice law.
