Losing is simply not an option. You need someone who will fight for you. Your concerns are my concerns. Your issues are my issues. I'll guide you through tough times and fight for your rights and interests. I'm passionate about my cases and clients and will represent you with determination, professionalism, and class. I grew up in Mesquite Texas. My interest in law began at a young age from stories my father, who worked as a teacher in the Texas prisons, would tell me. I remember reading through the Texas Penal Code when I was 12 years old and memorizing penalty ranges for various crimes. I also was very interested in cars from an early age and began working on them in my teens. I attended Texas A & M and the University of Texas at Arlington. During college I worked various jobs including the assembly line at General Motors in Arlington, a runner for a lawfirm and as a auto mechanic. The law and cars have always been a hobby and more for me. After graduating from The University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1991 I immediately began taking criminal cases as a defense lawyer. Over the years I have dealt with literally thousands of cases from shoplifting to murder. It is always a challenge to analyze every case in detail and figure out how to attain the best possible result for the client given the circumstances and facts of the case. Since 1991 I have also practiced personal injury, family and bankruptcy law. As with any type of case, careful analysis of the facts of these cases as it applies to the law is paramount in attaining the best result for the client.

As Chief Prosecutor of the Tarrant County Forensic and Technical Services Unit, Miles oversaw investigation and prosecution of arson and explosives cases, as well as the office’s Regional Forensic Video Lab and the Electronic Case Management System, which was the backbone for the criminal justice system in Tarrant County. Fire dynamics became a passion for Miles as a prosecutor. His understanding of fire science earned him an international reputation for successfully pursuing complex arson cases during a period of time where many questioned the field of fire science. In 2012, A Texas Advisory Council on Arson (ATAC) named him the Texas Arson Prosecutor of the Year. I focus on vigorously defending people accused of misdemeanor and felony offenses. I served as a Tarrant County Prosecutor prior to opening my own criminal defense practice in 2000. I understand the stress and anxiety my clients are feeling and believe it is my purpose as a criminal attorney to work hard and diligently to protect my clients rights and future.. As a Christian and a Criminal Defense Attorney it is not uncommon for people to ask, "how are those compatible? Don't you just get people off?" I don't condone sin or bad behavior, but I'm also not free from it. There are several reasons I have such an incredible passion for my work. First, we live in a country that requires the government to prove you are guilty beyond all reasonable doubt before you are convicted of a crime. Until you are put in a position to defend your name and your future those words won’t have much meaning. But to me, and the people who trust me to protect them, it means that a good defense with the protections and rights of the Constitution is the only thing standing between government and the result the government wants. We don't live in a country where someone says you committed a crime, and now you have to prove your innocence. Life is hard enough without having a criminal record follow you around. I cannot promise a dismissal, but I can promise I will work as hard as possible to put you in a position to protect your future. Seeing a young person get a second chance after a mistake and capitalize on that second chance is well worth fighting for. Now, forty five years old, I have spent the majority of my life in the Metroplex. I grew up in North Richland Hills and graduated from Richland High School in 1986. I attended Abilene Christian University for two years and then transferred to Baylor University were I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1991. Growing up I attended North Richland Hills Baptist Church in North Richland Hills. Now my family and I attend Christ Chapel in Arlington. I am happily married and have two children. All three are incredible gifts from God. We spend our time as a family between our home in Arlington and a small ranch in Graham, Texas. We enjoy golfing, fishing, hunting and traveling.

I have argued a case in front of the Texas Supreme Court. I recently won a case affecting DWI cases across the State in front of the Court of Criminal Appeals. I’ve handled literally hundreds of criminal cases. I trust juries. I go into every case my firm takes on assuming we will have to try the case to a jury. This preparation very frequently leads to dismissal of the case. I have tried over 60 jury trials, with the vast majority leading to a not guilty verdict for my client. In 2017, I tried 17 jury trials, leading to 13 verdicts of not guilty or the case ending in a mistrial due to errors on behalf of the State. It will be difficult to find an attorney more driven or dedicated to their clients. When I'm not in court, you will frequently find me fishing, boating, and spending time with friends and family in the Galveston area.

Zach holds a B.A. from Texas A&M University and received his J.D. from Thurgood Marshall School of law. Zach was also a police of officer for the city of Bryan, Texas. As a law enforcement officer he performed numerous arrests, and filed investigations from narcotics, assaults, and other crimes. His experience in the field as a patrol officer has been invaluable in helping clients wrongly accused. His unique perspective offers a real look at what an offense report means as opposed to what it states. After law school Zach became an Assistant District Attorney for the 81st District Court. This district covered five Texas counties. In this rural setting Zach’s duties covered every aspect of a felony case from intake, to grand jury, indictment, pretrial, trial and appeal. With only 5 attorneys to represent such a large area the caseload covered everything a felony prosecutor would ever face.. A short stint with a civil firm in Alvin, Texas gave Zach the tools and knowledge to have a successful civil practice. Eventually, he decided that his main interest, knowledge and experience was in criminal defense. After a couple of years of a successful general practice, Zach was retained on a case and invited the expertise of his colleague Calvin Parks. Preparing and trying that case together lead to the formal creation of Maloney and Parks, L.L.P. in January 2007. With the creation of the partnership, Maloney and Parks, LLP is able to expand their criminal and civil practice beyond Galveston and is better able to serve their clients.
