During my military service I was responsible for adminstrative actions and postal operations while serving in various states and overseas. I graduated with my B.A. degree in Criminal Justice from Florida A&M University and my law degree from North Carolina Central University. Growing up in the system I have always had a special place in my heart for families and their children.  After I graduated from UF I worked as a Child Protective Investigator for 4 years here in this community.  I became disenchanted with the system because I realized I couldn't save the world or change the system.  I started exploring other avenues, one of which led me to completing my Masters Degree at UCF, and another that led me to consider law school.  I chose to go to law school instead of accepting a supervisor position at DCF.  During law school I focused on family law and thought for sure that's the type of law I would practice and planned to return to the Department of Children and Families.
