As a young man, I learned that there can be a beauty in the order that law seeks to create as I first began to contemplate what it means to be part of a government that, at least in theory, strove to be “of the people, by the people, for the people.” In my early 20s I came face to face with true injustice as I served in the United States Marine Corps as a Reconnaissance Marine and fought for the often unrealized ideals this Country was founded upon.. For me the practice of law is something that enables me, through my profession, to use the God-given talents and abilities I possess to help people: to help people navigate a system of laws and process that is unfortunately and increasingly complex; to help people evaluate and effectively plan their business and personal affairs; and when necessary, to help people engage, defend, or pursue a legal negotiation or battle with strategy, wisdom, and grace.. When I am not working, I am usually quite content to be spending time with my wife, my children, and my friends. Those close to me know that you never have to twist my arm to get my buy-in to playing a good game, throwing a ball for our dog, or enjoying a good book or movie.

Layla was born and raised in Gillette, Wyoming but has since made Montana her home. Layla earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Montana. She received her law degree from the University of Montana School of Law.. Prior to joining Geiszler Steele, PC Layla worked for a Bozeman firm where she specialized in family law litigation, collaborative law, and provided broad legal assistance to small businesses and non-profits. Layla also worked as an attorney for ASMSU Legal Services, where she provided legal representation and advice to Montana State University students and gained experience in a wide array of legal issues including consumer protection, business formation and tax issues, estate planning, criminal defense, and limited scope legal services.During law school, Layla worked for the Bozeman Attorney’s office as a student prosecuting attorney and interned for Western Justice Associates in Bozeman, where she focused primarily on consumer protection law.. Layla’s practice focuses on general civil matters including contract disputes, civil litigation, estate planning and probate, property transactions, and advising clients on business formation.
