Having begun my legal career representing mega-inurance companies, I quickly realized many of these companies cared little about people, even if those people had suffered catastrophic, life-altering losses. That realization did not sit well with me. Things were made worse when an insurance company wanted me to find a way to avoid paying a mother for the loss of her unborn baby, when the loss of life was the company's insured's fault. Not paying the claim might save the company a few cents on their annual report to shareholders, but would prolong and exacerbate human suffering.. So, I decided to represent ordinary people instead of large companies. The decision has resulted in me having life-long friendships with those whom I represented. I hope that I have brought positive change to the lives of those clients and that we, together, have and will continue to effect positive change, making the world a safer and more livable place.

I grew up in Washington DC area, went to college in Philadelphia, and have lived in NY, Boston, Phliadelphia, Laurel, Washington DC and Los Angeles, CA.  Earned four degrees: engineerng, business administration,  a Masters in Environmental Science and in 1984 a JD in law from Southwestern where I was #2 in the class.. Moved to LA in 1977 to lead an air quality planning group. After, cleaing the air,  I went to law school at night. Afterwards, I worked for the windmill industry and other alternative energy projects.. In 1985, I started my own law firm.  We specialize in Real Estate transactions and litigation. We have particular expertize in easements and boundary disputes. We have clients in Los Angeles, southern CA, Malibu, Northern CA, China, Germany,  and Italy.  We have four  attorneys and two admin staff.. When I am not working enjoy the outdoors and Montana.

I truly enjoy practicing law, and helping clients solve legal issues. When I meet with someone, I make it a point to explain legal issues in an understandable way.. If we are discussing a complex Will or Trust, or maybe a holding company structure for a business, I usually draw a diagram on the whiteboard during our meeting, which helps to clarify the legal structure in a more practical way.. Many clients have told me that they really appreciated the way I was able to make the legal process understandable and "painless" for them.. I am also especially sensitive to the need for caring advice when assisting clients who have experienced the loss of a loved one, and need help with Probate of an estate..
