Carl’s busy litigation practice emphasizes insurance defense, first and third-party coverage opinions / litigation, extra contractual matters, the defense of alleged bad faith claims and general as well as environmental defense claims.  He is licensed to practice law in Washington, Alaska and Oregon and has represented clients throughout the United States, with particular emphasis in the Western states. Carl has extensive trial experience, initially as an Assistant District Attorney in Anchorage, Alaska, and he continues with an active trial practice now.  He is frequently asked to serve as a King County Superior Court Arbitrator and is an instructor for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy’s trial and deposition skills programs, as well as an Adjunct Professor, Trial Advocacy, at the University of Washington School of Law.  He is a frequent author and lecturer on topics related to his primary practice areas as well as pre-trial and trial related issues.

Attorney Kyriakidis graduated from Pace University in New York with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice. After attending Pace University Graduate School in public administration, she relocated to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to attend New England School of Law where she received her Juris Doctor. She is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, State of New York and the United States District Court, District of Massachusetts.. Despina began her legal career practicing civil litigation, estate planning and probate administration for a firm located near Boston. She later managed that firm’s litigation department.. Since joining Gosselin Law, her practice has concentrated in probate litigation, including will and fiduciary contests, and probate and trust administration. In one of her more unique cases she successfully defended a challenge to the Massachusetts Intestacy laws before the Appeals Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.. Despina lives in the greater Boston area and is married to an officer of the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps.

I earned my Law Degree (J.D.) from the T. C. Williams School of Law, University of Richmond.  My undergraduate degree is from Virginia Commonwealth University -School of Business.. I entered private practice in Norfolk in 1978 after completing a Judicial Clerkship with the Virginia Supreme Court.  Initially focusing on injury cases, I quickly evolved into family law, which remains the focus of my practice today.. Ms. Machler represents injured people in auto accident, products liability, medical malpractice, and premises liability cases. In 2010, King County paid Osborn Machler a record 10,000,000 for an excessive force case that Ms. Machler worked on. She has significant appellate experience, including Armantrout v. Cascade Orthopaedics, affecting wrongful death claims in Washington. In addition to her other work, Ms. Machler performs pro bono work in the areas of family and administrative law, serves as an MAR arbitrator, and is a settlement guardian at litem in King County. Ms. Machler is governor-elect from the Ninth District for the Washington State Bar Association Board of Governors and also served on the Washington State Association for Justice Board of Governors for several years. My practice provides clients with personal legal services in estate planning, real estate and business planning. I use a non-traditional style of doing business that is designed to meet clients' needs when they arise, through responsiveness and efficient, one-on-one communication.. ---. I'm a Missouri Tiger, having graduated from the University of Missouri, with a BS in Business Administration in 1992 and my JD in 1995.  I'm often asked how I ended up in Poulsbo.  It's a long story, but for starters, check the heat index in Missouri in August and the wind chill factor in February.. I enjoy the practice of law, but I love my family.  Consequently, I work from both my commerical office in Poulsbo and my home office in Seattle, as this allows me to be available for my family, instead of commuting several hours daily in my car or on the ferry.  A normal work week for me finds me in Poulsbo two to three days each week on average. Those days are spent primarily meeting with clients or in court. Because I'm often returning home on the Winslow ferry, it's not uncommon for me to schedule meetings with Bainbridge clients at their home or place of business at the end of a day. My days in my home office are production days where I'm preparing work product for clients. However, my use of technology allows me to be flexible for client needs, remaining available to clients for phone calls or Skype meetings.
