I am a third generation lawyer. I have been around lawyers my whole life and after graduating from college and taking a job at Commerce Bank of Kansas City as a teller I decided that my skills and vocation was to continue as an attorney.  I honed my trial skills in mock trial competitions across the country and I have volunteered to assist in immigration work as well as other pro bono areas.

I am married to Isabel Harrison and have four children.  I enjoy playing tennis and walking.  I often spend time in my garden to relax.

David E. Brule, the Senior partner of the firm, graduated San Diego State University with a degree in Economics. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1968 from California College of Law. He has been actively practicing law in the Bay Area for over 30 years. During his career he has held various governmental positions with the IRS and Treasury Department. Mr. Brule spent five years as a Tax Attorney for the IRS in San Francisco. He was a General Attorney (tax matters) for the United States Treasury Department when he was assigned to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. He was promoted within that agency to Regional Counsel for the Western United States. During this time he was appointed as Special Assistant United States Attorney to prosecute sensitive cases. He was also assigned to Washington D.C. as Acting Deputy Chief Counsel for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms for a period. He ultimately rose to the position of Assistant Chief Counsel for that agency. In private practice he has held positions as General Counsel and Special Counsel for both public and private companies in technology and service industries. His background gives him a broad area of expertise in dealing with both estate planning and business development issues. Because of his tax and governmental experience, as well as his involvement with the operations, sales of mergers of businesses of all sizes, he has a significant advantage in dealing with governmental agencies thatregulate business. This experience is also valuable in developing estate and business planning vehicles such as Corporations, LLC’s, trusts and offshore entities.

William N. Kirk was born in Norton, Kansas and joined Gould Cooksey Fennell in 2004 where he now co-chairs the Estate Planning and Tax Group. He concentrates his practice in the areas of sophisticated estate and tax planning, probate and trust administration, and complex business transactions.. Mr. Kirk received his Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the Washburn University School of Law in 1990. Graduating first in his law school class, he earned eleven American Jurisprudence Awards for receiving the highest grade in nearly one-third of his law school courses, including wills and estates, trusts, taxation, contracts, real property, corporations, partnerships, and ethics. In addition, he served as the Notes Editor of the Washburn Law Journal and was a member of the Washburn Moot Court Council. Mr. Kirk earned an LL.M. in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law where he was named an Estate Planning Fellow because of his academic achievement and potential for excellence in the field of estate planning.. Following graduation from the Washburn University School of Law, Mr. Kirk joined the corporate business department of Foulston & Siefkin L.L.P., the largest law firm based entirely in the State of Kansas, where he focused his practice on complex business and securities transactions. In 1996, he left the private practice of law and became a principal and executive officer of a family-owned, multi-unit restaurant company located in Palm Beach County, Florida. In 2002, Mr. Kirk commenced his studies in taxation and estate planning at the University of Miami School of Law and became a member of the Florida Bar.. Mr. Kirk is a Past President of the Indian River County Estate Planning Council and Past Director of the Planned Giving Council of Indian River. He is a member of the Indian River County Bar Association and of the Taxation and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law sections of the American Bar Association and the Florida Bar.. Apart from the practice of law, Mr. Kirk is also involved in various civic and charitable organizations. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Indian River County, and acts as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for United Way Foundation of Indian River County. He also serves on various advisory councils, including the Professional Advisors Council of the Indian River Community Foundation and The VNA Foundation Planeed Giving Active Council. He has also served in various leadership roles for the St. Edwards Cub Scout Pack 512 for eight years, including Den Leader, Cubmaster and Pack Committee Chairman.

Born into a military family, Scott has lived all over the country. After settling into St. Augustine Scott attended Flagler College, where he completed his undergraduate studies in Business Administration, Spanish, and Pre-Law. After graduating from Flagler College, he accepted a scholarship to Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, FL, where he attained his Juris Doctorate.. After graduating from law school, Scott was accepted into the Florida Bar and the Middle District of Florida. He uses his passion for the law and utmost ethical standards to ensure the best possible results for his clients.. Scott is currently an active member of the Florida Bar, St. Johns County Bar Association, and is certified to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Beckett Horner practices in the areas of Estate Planning, Real Estate, Probate, Trust Administration, Guardianship, Business, and Tax Law. Beckett was born and raised in Vero Beach, FL and attended the University of Florida, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in History.
