I primarily worked in grants and contracts administration, but also held positions in business management, human resources, and fiscal working for many years at Mizzou, I chose to pursue my life-long dream of becoming an attorney and attended the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law as a non-traditional student. During law school, I worked for the Veterans Clinic, helping to successfully appeal disability claims, and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance clinic, preparing personal income tax returns. In my final year of law school, Mary was the recipient of the Fred L. Hall, Jr., Foundation Estate Planning Award. Upon receiving a Juris Doctorate, graduating with a Tax Concentration in Estate Planning and Taxation, and passing the Missouri Bar exam after the first attempt, I began working for the State of Missouri as a Hearing Officer in Child Support Enforcement. This quasi-judicial position required me to conduct hearings addressing child support, establishment, enforcement, and modification issues and to prepare written decisions for each hearing.
