For most of my career I was a public defender -- more than ten years as a federal public defender, and another ten years as a state court defender. I also spent four and a half years teaching criminal defense trial practice at Harvard Law School. I have tried all kinds of serious felony cases in both state and federal court. My trials have included rape, murder, burglary, robbery, wire fraud, and conspiracy cases.
