I have been practicing law for almost 26 years, engaging in the general practice of law with an emphasis on criminal defense, personal injury and civil litigation.  I have successfully litigated or settled numerous cases for his clients, including personal injury cases such as automobile accidents, premises liability  malpractice cases, and dog bite cases, as well as workers compensation cases, social security disability claims, contract disputes, employer-employee disputes, and business disputes.  I have also handled numerous criminal defense matters over the years, ranging from crimes of violence, motor vehicle offenses including operating under the influence of liquor or drugs, to crimes against property, and drug offenses.  I have also handled numerous appeals before the Registry of Motor Vehicles.. Colleen E. McGahan joined the firm as an associate in January of 2010.  Attorney McGahan is a graduate of Saint Joseph’s University (B.A., 2002) (M.S., 2003) and Rutgers-Camden School of Law (J.D., 2009).  While in law school, in addition to working full time as a certified criminal intelligence analyst for the Middle Atlantic-Great Lakes Organized Crime Law Enforcement Network, Miss McGahan also performed a Judicial Externship for the Honorable Jack M. Sabatino, J.A.D., in the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey.. Prior to joining Coogan, Smith, Attorney McGahan served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Richard F. Wells, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey.. Attorney McGahan is licensed to practice in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  She is a member of the Massachusetts, Bristol County and Attleboro Bar Associations (past President), as well as the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys.  Attorney McGahan is also a member of the North Attleboro/Plainville Rotary Club.. While in college, Attorney McGahan was a three year captain of the St. Joseph’s University women’s basketball team.
