Attorney David Teel obtained his Juris Doctor from Arizona State University.  After graduation, he worked at  the Maricopa County Public Defender’s  office, zealously defending clients in a variety of criminal cases. He eventually ascended to the Capital Unit where he became a lead-qualified attorney in death penalty cases. Attorney Teel entered into private practice in 2015.  He focuses his practice in the area of criminal defense and appeals with a special focus on DUI/DWI cases.

I was born and raised in Whitwell, Tennessee. I graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. When I graduated, I immediately pursued his passion of assisting people as an attorney. I graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2019 and became a licensed Alabama attorney shortly after graduating. I have worked on criminal defense cases in Scottsboro, Alabama after acquiring my license. I have represented clients as an Assistant Public Defense Attorney at the Montgomery County Public Defender’s Office in 2021. Shortly after, I would join the Hazzard Law Firm team to continue my passion of assisting people. When I am not in court or representing clients, I enjoy running 5k races and listening to vinyl records on my record player at home.

Ansley is a 2015 Honors B.A. graduate of The University of Alabama and graduated from The University of Georgia School of Law in 2019, where she participated extensively in the Criminal Defense Clinic and served as President of the Public Interest Law Council.. While in law school, Ansley worked for two years at the Western Circuit Public Defender’s office where she was able to represent clients in hearings, trials, and other matters. Ansley always knew she wanted to practice criminal defense, and her time at the Public Defender’s Office solidified her mission to help people navigate the criminal justice system.. Upon returning to Birmingham, Ansley worked for two and a half years with one of Alabama’s most prominent criminal defense attorneys, handling many cases in municipal state courts across Alabama. After developing her skills defending clients in many types of criminal matters, she decided it was time to open her own firm and started Bennett Law.
