I have been a criminal law practitioner for nearly 25 years.  The vast majority of those years have been spent as a state court prosecutor in both Alameda and Santa Clara Counties. My specialty as a prosecutor was high profile, complex felony prosecutions.  Among the many homicides I've tried to verdict was the prosecution of three men for the murder of a transgender teenager named Gwen Araujo.  That case was eventually the subject of a Lifetime Network movie, "A Girl Like Me.". I was born in San Francisco, California. My parents are natives of Nicaragua and spoke Spanish at home. I learned both Spanish and English at an early age. I graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 2001 with a degree in legal studies.. After college, I attended Seton Hall University School of Law in New Jersey. I also won a resisting arrest case where the defendant was charged with assaulting a police officer while resisiting arrest. Because of the outcome of the criminal trial, the defendant was able to succesfully pursue a claim against the police department resulting in a civil settlement.. On my free time I enjoy playing the guitar, reading, yoga, playing chess, and walking my dog.

Evan E. Zelig started out practicing exclusively criminal law. Mr. Zelig earned his law degree at McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. James T. Hyun for the last 25 years has been  senior partner at Hyun Law Group focusing his practice on criminal defense and complex civil litigation.  Mr. Hyun is also currently a   Cook County Administrative Law Judge  since May of 2010 and is an adjunct professor at Northwestern University Law School where he teaches international trial advocacy.  He started his career as a prosecutor for the Cook County States Attorneys Office and worked his way up all the way to felony court level.   After leaving the prosecutors office, he formed law firm of Hyun Law Group where he specialized in criminal defense and complex civil litigation.
