I was born in San Francisco, California. My parents are natives of Nicaragua and spoke Spanish at home. I learned both Spanish and English at an early age. Because of my background, I understand and appreciate the various issues that good hard working people face in the community. I grew up and went to high school in the east bay city of Newark. I graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 2001 with a degree in legal studies.. After college, I attended Seton Hall University School of Law in New Jersey. I graduated in 2005 and moved back to the Bay Area.. I have represented clients at trial in robbery, child molestation, resisting arrest, sexual assault, and assault with a deadly weapon cases.. I won an indecent exposure case where the defendant was facing jail time and lifetime sex registration. The client went free, no jail, no probation, and no lifetime registration as a sex offender.. I also won a resisting arrest case where the defendant was charged with assaulting a police officer while resisiting arrest. Because of the outcome of the criminal trial, the defendant was able to succesfully pursue a claim against the police department resulting in a civil settlement.. On my free time I enjoy playing the guitar, reading, yoga, playing chess, and walking my dog.

I was a Cook County Assistant State's Attorney for 8 years, trying everything from speeding tickets to murder and left to form a lawfirm with my supervisor. We began doing juvenile court and criminal cases, then branched out into civil litigation. After my partner;s death, I joined large auto dealer as general counsel and returned to private practice after the business was sold in 2005. I have been doing criminal, traffic and civil litigation since then.
