Henry Fonda, playing young Abe Lincoln, inspired me. I'm still inspired after all these years. While the business side of a law office is similar to running any business, there is nothing better than vindicating a client's rights in court. That always remains special.. It is important to go over a client's case thoroughly. The facts are everything. Then in-depth research is vital to match a client's factual version to legal theories and standards which will hold up in court. If a civil case, then having a settlement position is vital. A good compromise can sometimes bring better closure than years of litigation. But if the other side does not wish to settle, then we know we will be putting our dispute before the judge or jury. I believe strongly in the ultimate fairness and good common sense of our jurors.. If criminal defense, then all of the above precepts apply and more. No one needs more protection than the unpopular, the disadvantaged, the wrongly accused. We do not judge our clients, we leave that to the judge or jury. But every client, no matter the facts, deserves a vigorous defense. It is the bedrock principle of our Constitution, and the liberties we all enjoy.. There are no guarantees regarding results in the courtroom. Like life, outcomes vary. The only guarantee we make here is to give your matter our full attention and to serve your needs to the best of our ability.

Born and raised in the beautiful Catskill Mountains of upstate New York, I have grown up in a small town where everyone knows everyone else. The small town has also taught me that a reputation takes a lifetime to build and can be lost in no time. Honesty and integrity are of utmost importance to me - confidentiality of my clients' secrets, building of trust between client and me, as well as the hope that I will make lifelong clients and friends starting with just a single phone call or email.

I am a criminal defense lawyer by trade, having honed my skills as an assistant district attorney in the nation's third largest county at the beginning of my career. Currently, I represent clients in both federal and state courts in New York, on serious criminal matters.. If you have been arrested for any criminal offense, such as a DWI, guns, drug charges, assault, terrorism charges, or sex crimes, contact an attorney who is skilled and experienced in complex cases. If you are currently being investigated by the government on any criminal matter, call us at once.. I also can help if you have been issued a DAT (desk appearance ticket), which is considered an arrest, and still presents potentially serious repercussions if you are convicted. For a serious offense, you need a serious attorney who will listen to you and be available when you need them.. My philiosophy is simple: I do not believe in telling a client what he or she wants to hear merely to get them to hire me, but rather, I tell them what they need to know. Often times, those two are not aligned with one another, but in the end you need to hear straight talk from your lawyer. Any attorney can sell you a bill of goods over the phone just to get you to hire them. I do not handle my practice in that manner. I handle every case as if it was my own case, or that of someone very close to me.. I put the necessary time in each case to ensure I know that case better than the prosecutor knows the case. I will conduct my own investigation by speaking with witnesses, going to the crime scene, and pulling the case law that will be helpful in your case. This is critical to a good outcome in your case.. Most cases are resolved without a jury trial, while others have no other option but to go to trial. Whatever the issue may be with your case, I will advise you as to which path is the best course of action for you.. While many attorneys may boast that all they do is go to trial on each and every case, the truth is that going to trial on every case would be malpractice, in essence. Not every case needs to go to trial, or would benefit the client from going to trial. In many cases I am able to get the charges dismissed, and my client has his/her life restored. Some cases are best worked out with a reduction in charges to a lesser offense, and some cases are worked out in a plea bargain. Those that don't fit those situations are typically set for trial.. I have tried more than 75 serious criminal cases to a jury, with a very good track record in trial.. As the managing partner of Greco Neyland, PC, I oversee the east coast office, representing clients in all 5 boroughts of New York, as well as Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties.. I am a father of 2 children, so I know how parents think when they come to my office to seek counsel for their child who may find themselves in the crosshairs of the prosecuting branch of law enforcement.. I believe no person should be denied quality representation merely because they cannot afford a better lawyer. Whatever amount of money you spend on a lawyer is "good, hard earned money.". Every case is different from the next one, and therefore no two fees are alike. We have reasonable rates and we accept all major credit cards, in addition to Venmo, Zelle, and CashApp. Additionally, we offer flexible payment plans to clients in order to help our clients get the legal representation they need, and still be able to meet their monthly financial obligations.. Call us today so we can get started on your case. Do not wait until it is too late.

Cindy N. Brown practices in the areas of criminal defense, civil litigation, family law, and landlord/tenant, defending the interests of the everyday man. While she feels strongly about the work that she does for all her clients, she is especially passionate about fathers, and their ability to maintain meaningful relationships with their children after divorce or failed relationships. All too often, the end of romantic relationships result in diminished contact with children through no fault of the fathers, and once the matter has made its way into the Family Court system, many fathers feel as though the odds are stacked against them and their parental rights are given much less weight than the mothers of their children. As such, Ms. Brown focuses a lot of her practice in the area of family law to combat these issues, in order to protect the rights of fathers who genuinely want to be a part of their children’s lives.. Born on the beautiful island of Jamaica, Ms. Brown is a New York transplant, having resided here for over 20 years. A University of Albany alum, she graduated from the Charleston School of Law in 2012. While in law school, Ms. Brown achieved recognition on the Dean’s List, as well as Cali Awards for receiving the highest marks her subjects. She was a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and Juris One Sports & Entertainment Law Society. Ms. Brown recalls her experience of studying Public International Law at Oxford’s Magdalen College as one of her most memorable during her law school studies.. Ms. Brown first started a career in public service by interning with the New York State Assembly while an undergrad at the University at Albany. Thereafter, she went on to work as Special Assistant to former Assemblyman (now Senator), Jeffrey Klein. Further solidifying her commitment public service, Ms. Brown worked for Pro Bono Legal Service in Charleston, South Carolina where she provided assistance to low-income clients with legal matters involving landlord-tenant issues, custody and visitation, and uncontested divorces. Immediately prior to joining our firm, Ms. Brown worked as Judicial Intern to the Hon. Sallie Manzanet-Daniels in the Appellate Division, First Department, wherein she was tasked with reviewing cases on appeal, checking citations to ensure the accuracy of arguments, and conducting research for use in the judge’s decisions.. Despite her move to private practice, Ms. Brown maintains a very strong commitment to giving back to the community which she tributes for making her who she is. To that end, she participates in the Big Brother Big Sister program; where she volunteers here time to mentor children who are often from low-income inner city homes, and in need of positive influences in their lives. Ms. Brown’s belief that children are the future of tomorrow, fuels her commitment to ensuring that they are provided with the necessary tools to ensure that they become productive members of the society.. Ms. Brown enjoys spending time with her family, taking walks with her dog Myles, traveling to exotic locations, and the occasional motorcycle ride.

When you hire me, you will be getting an experienced New York City criminal defense trial lawyer, who cares about you, and who will always treat you with dignity and respect. I am dedicated to serving clients in the Bronx and the surrounding areas and always strive to give my clients the best legal representation I can offer.. I was born and raised in the Bronx and have dedicated my entire professional career of 24 years to defending people accused of crimes.. In that time, I have handled thousands of criminal cases from murder charges to traffic tickets. If it means sticking up for your rights by aggressively confronting a prosecutor, a cop, a witness, or even a judge in a courtroom, I have done that. If it takes quiet negotiation to resolve your case favorably, I have done that, too. Whatever the unique facts your situation calls for, you and I are partners with the same goal: to help you through this difficult time as quickly and as painlessly as possible so you can get back to your life with your family, your job, and your community.. I will always have time to promptly respond to your phone calls, to sit down with you in the privacy of my office or in a private conference room at court, to listen to you, and to answer your questions in terms you can understand. I love to discuss problems, to teach, and to explain; to connect, to communicate, and to advocate. That's one reason I knew I wanted to be a trial lawyer. But I also take great pride in being a good listener. It's a lot harder to listen than to talk.. Many lawyers are good talkers, and talking is certainly important. But I've learned over the years that a really good lawyer also knows how to listen: to witnesses testifying in trials, to prosecutors and judges, and most importantly, to clients.. Listening takes time. Listening takes patience. Listening takes practice. I will always take the time to really listen to you, to be there for you when you need me, to promptly return your calls, answer your questions, and carefully explain your options in terms you can understand.
