(Phoenix) - I LOVE to litigate. I love a passionate argument and all the attorneys at Laboy Law Office have no problem with "putting the fighting gloves on" for our clients. Maybe it's because I have always been a fighter. I have training in Taekwondo, Krav Maga, boxing, and jiu jitsu. Or, maybe it has something to do with where I was born, successfully fighting to escape the mean streets of Brooklyn, NY. I know what it means to be an underdog -- and how to overcome it. Our office will go to bat for you with the same drive and energy.. I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Journalism from Brooklyn College which TIME Magazine then labeled, “The Poor Man’s Harvard.” I also hold a Master of Arts in Mass Communications from California State University, Fullerton where I graduated at the top of my class and where I was selected the student commencement speaker.. I attended The College of Law at Arizona State University. I graduated law school early -- a difficult task -- and focused on Criminal Justice. I also earned a certificate in Indian Law. I was also selected the student commencement speaker for the law school's very first Winter Graduation Ceremony.. Before graduate school, I worked as an award-winning reporter and writer for The Wall Street Journal and N.Y. Newsday. I also have worked as a media spokesperson, writing press releases and appearing on TV, radio, and in print news stories regarding crisis communications. I have also had stories and columns printed in the Orange County Register, for the New York Times Co., The Kansas City Star, La Voz, Hispanic Link News, and in newspapers around the world, including the United Arab Emirates and England.. I first practiced law as a felony trial prosecutor with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. I prosecuted and took many cases to trial as a Deputy County Attorney including armed robbery, drug sales, DUI, forgery, and aggravated assault cases. I love going to bat for the underdog, especially when the media has rushed to judgment assuming a client's guilt. I have no problem setting up a press conference if it helps a client. I know criminal law from the newsroom to both sides of the courtroom.. I have focused my practice exclusively on criminal defense. Currently, the office is lead counsel on cases including: Conspiracy; several DCAC cases; Transportation of Drugs for Sale; Illegal Control of an Enterprise; Money Laundering; DUI cases; and sex assault involving a minor.. Laboy Law Office's mission is to be assertive and aggressive in your defense while offering you top customer service. Let Laboy Law Office be your Personal, Private Criminal Defense Team.
Although my practice consists of both criminal trial work and Civil trial Work our firm focuses on DUI defense as evidenced by my focus and training below. I began my apprenticeship under the family law firm in Dunwoody, Georgia. Initially, that law firm familiarized me with concepts under Debt Collection, Contracts and Agreements, Family Law and Real Estate. After working at the family firm for 20 years, as first a legal assistant and then an attorney, I decided to go out on my own. I obtained a position with the City of Atlanta Municipal Court and that foray into criminal law led to my criminal expertise including almost exclusively traffic, DUI and drug cases. As a legal assistant, former prosecutor and now a defense attorney I have spent alot of time in the courtroom. As a Defense attorney I am extremely dedicated to my clients which makes my practice so unique and sought after (including a 24 hour contact line). Both before and after completing law school and passing the bar I received a lot of experience first hand as a legal assistant and then defense attorney. During that time I obtained my Standardized Field Sobriety training and my Advanced Roadside impaired driving enforcement training from the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration. After spending 3 years fighting for people's rights I thought that I should learn how the other side works their cases so that I could better prepare as a defense attorney. At that point, I spent the next 3 years with the City of Atlanta Solicitor's/Prosecutor office in the special DUI Courtroom where I prosecuted DUI and Drug offenses. As a prosecutor I learned how the other side prepares for prosecuting their cases. This is extremely helpful and useful for my clients as I have the ability to interpret what the other side is considering and thinking in regards to my clients case.. After excelling in the courtroom, I trained at the Georgia Public Safety and Training Center (GPSTC). By training at this location I was able to learn exactly what both the police and State Troopers learn to make their DUI cases. In fact, the Georgia Public Safety and Training Center is where State Troopers receive their training and where all police officers supplement their training. While training there at the police training ground I received certifications in DUI Field Sobriety Testing, and various other programs for speeding, accident and basic moving violations. After completing this training, I was invited by other county prosecutors to be a guest instructor for a DUI courses at both the Georgia Public Safety and Training Center and county locations. I also had the opportunity to design and teach a class at the Atlanta Police Department Training Center. I also assisted in redesigning the current DUI court system with the City of Atlanta Municipal Court.. Now my time is spent using my knowledge gained in defending the innocent in court against wrongful prosecution. If you’re faced with a DUI, drug, or other traffic charge it’s very important that you hire a lawyer. While you can hire any attorney wouldn’t you rather hire one who knows both sides of prosecution and defense? Wouldn’t you rather hire an attorney who not only knows the cops, but has also trained them? Wouldn’t you rather hire an attorney who has spent all night on the road working with the officers in your case? Wouldn’t you rather hire an attorney who has worked with and trained the prosecutor in your case?
Kevin Trombold has been defending people just like you for nearly twenty years. As a public defender and in his thriving private practice, he has effectively represented thousands of people charged with DUI, Domestic Violence and other crimes.. He is highly rated by former clients, who praise his fierce determination in getting their charges reduced and his warm, knowledgeable courtside manner. Kevin is also well respected by the judges and prosecutors he works with across the Puget Sound for his expertise in DUI law, a complex area involving forensic science.. One rare asset Kevin brings to the table is the time he spent honing his trial and negotiation skills as a public defender. While private criminal defense attorneys in Washington typically go to trial just a few times a year, Kevin took several hundred cases to trial in his nine years with the Public Defender Association of King County. Only a handful of Seattle-based criminal defense attorneys have Kevin’s level of trial experience. It molded him into a seasoned attorney who is completely at ease before jurors and judges and also skilled at vigorously cross-examining police officers and expert witnesses. Because he has won so many not guilty verdicts before juries, prosecutors in Washington know he is not bluffing when he says he will take a case to trial if he can’t get the deal his client deserves.
Chris' background, experience and specialized scientific training couldn't better scripted to help you defend your DUI matter. As a former DUI police officer, and prosecutor, and DUI defense attorney for the past 10 years, Chris has extensive experience in every phase and in the role of every player critical to your DUI. This knowledge is vital to properly defending your DUI. Its like having the other team's playbook in your hands before the biggest game of the season.. Before law school, Chris Cessna served as a law enforcement officer for ten years. During this time, he received formal training and experience in conducting DUI investigations through the administration of standardized field sobriety testing and the operation of the intoxilyzer 4011 and 5000.. In 1996, Chris was accepted into the University Of Denver College Of Law. During his law school tenure, Chris served as a law clerk to the Colorado Supreme Court Office of Attorney Regulation. After his second year of law school Chris served as an intern deputy district attorney prosecuting traffic cases at trial, and was selected to research, write and submit an appellate brief to the Colorado Supreme Court for its deliberation and consideration on the admissibility of “Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus evidence in DUI cases”. After graduating from law school in 1999, Chris was immediately hired as a full-time deputy district attorney prosecuting DUI cases and trying numerous jury trials involving complex scientific evidence such as breath, blood and other chemical tests.. In 2002, Chris opened his own private practice with a concentration on defending DUI matters. Since that time, Chris’ litigation skills and understanding of the complexities of drinking and driving offenses has resulted in obtaining regular dismissals of drinking and driving charges for his clients either during the pre-trial phase, motions phase or jury trial phase of a case.. The reason Mr. Cessna obtains so many dismissals for his client is because of his extensive background in the formal sciences of breath testing, blood testing and standardized field sobriety testing (SFST). Always ask any attorney you may be thinking of retaining about their background in the science of breath, blood and SFST testing. You will find that only a rare handful of attorneys handling DUI matters have this vital, but necessary experience. If the attorney you are interviewing doesn't have this background - how will they beat the blood, breath or SFST evidence the government is planning on using against you?
